My fellow TH8'ers, this is our thread. How are you guys doing? (Part 2)

im in the same dilemma, ive maxed everything except collectors, ive decided to do all my de troops thus spending an additional month n half in th8, de is easy to come by so isn't an issue. at th9 id rather focus my de on heroes and have better de troops to farm/war with. That would be my 2 cents

I have decided to max pekka's maybe get a lightning level, rage and minions.

Primarily because DE will be easier to do than Elixer in th9 (to start anyway).


My biggest problem is the walls being done, my collectors are also incomplete but without being able to dump into walls I find myself unable to play and spend resources so It feels very slow

At least at th9 Ill be able to play hard and spend additional resources on walls. If i was less active I would definitely stick around but I dont want to be stuck here with nothing to do for 40 days (250 wins so far this season, win rate around 80% to keep trophies in check).. its a shame I really wanted to max all troops but I cant justify it

You might need to either drop trophies a bit or upgrade defenses (if not already maxed out)

So for a few months I have been struggling with all the upgrades costs, even though I have a pretty solid farming base. I just would like some advice on what things I should prioritize, I rushed my TH from 7 to 8 and I have my lab at max for TH8 the only other building maxed is my lab.

My building list:

Mortars - Level 5

Wiz Towers - 2 level 4, 1 level 3

Cannons - Level 8

Archer Towers - Level 7

Barracks - 1 Level 10, 1 Level 9, 1 Level 7, 1 Level 6

Dark Barracks - 1 Upgrading to 4, other one I don't have

Spell Factory - Maxed TH8

Lab - Maxed TH8

Dark Storage - Level 2

Dark Drills - Level 1 (Both)

Pumps and Mines - Level 9 are the majority

Elixir and Gold Storages - Level 10



Troops:

Barb - Level 4

Arch - Level 4

Goblin - Level 1

Giants - Level 2

Wall Breaker - Level 3

Balloon - Level 1

Wizard - Upgrading to Level 4

Healer - Level 1

Drag - Level 2

PEKKA - Level 1

Minion - Level 1

Hogs - Level 1

Valks - Level 1

Golems - Level 1 (soon)



Spells:

Lightning - Level 2

Heal - Level 3

Rage - Level 3

For research I would upgrade whatever you use most for raiding first. So if you usually BArch then get the Barbs and Archers up to level 5. After you get your raiding army upgraded then worry about your clan war army troops (if clan wars are important to you).

I personally would get the DE drills upgrading to help get DE for DE research and your Barb King (which you didn't mention). Also not mentioned are your hidden teslas which take a long time to upgrade to max TH8 levels. When I first started TH8 I tried to always have a tesla upgrading. Other than that, I think most people recommend you upgrade splash defenses before point defenses. I probably wouldn't worry too much about upgrading barracks/mines/collectors at this point since they take quite a bit of time for not a ton of marginal benefit.

Don't forget about walls too, I've left my walls till the end of TH8 and am really starting to regret that.

What army is good against max TH8's?

I'm using GiWiPe atm with 5,5,1 and lev 7 giants in castle, but having mixed success, seems to work alright but poor on fully defensively maxed TH8s.

Max th8 vs max th8?

GoWiPe or Hogs. Sometimes mass drags but relies heavily on base layout. But if were to xhoose id go GoWiPe

lv6 giants are a pain in the ♥♥♥, that being said though my TH9 acc has a wonderful farming experience with the giants ;p unlike most of the guys here I genuinely love TH8, I've got a TH9 acc (lv80 atm) and a TH8 acc (lv100 atm) and although TH9 has max camps and lv5 aq and what not, I still love my max TH8 way more, currently trophy pushing and I don't plan on taking my max TH8 to 9 anytime soon (been max TH8 for over 2 months now) TH8 is gr8 m8 although TH8 defense sucks D the attack and troops you have access to is brilliant, I have one base atm that TH9s can't beat with the lv6 giants, actually won multiple defense with it, copyright this shizzz though it's an original design and I am gonna make a thread for it soon here it turned in a 67% to a TH9 bass drag (11 lv4 drags n a lv4 drag in cc if I remember correctly) although I'm sure enemy clan ghosted the hell out of it because I wasn't attacked once until last 4hrs of war I think while the other TH8s (4 others maxed TH8s and 3 close to max) had about 20+ attacks on em in total some ♥♥ ghosting is, also though I was gowiped from the east (eastern teaser power man!!!) got a glorious 38% fail from a fellow max TH8 it was amazing stuff, although cc does most of the work (no TH8 base is that great) CC troops, 1 max loon, 1 wiz, rest arch, if they lure cc and attack from east they always do better, but no real ground raid has gotten my TH, in war I was eventually gowiped for 3 stars by a TH10 so thats ♥♥ ( he attacked from the east too) and to the main story here (above was just a side show) gowiva is better than gowipe, A LOT BETTER CAN'T EMPHASIZE ENOUGH!!! currently experimenting with gowivape but gowiva is still the best atm SEE MY THREAD IF YOU WANNA LEARN MORE, I guess people are all left in awe and don't wanna reply although all I wanna do is help out misguided people, here you go no need for thanks since I don't expect any from ungrateful forumers: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...82#post3660782

Finally reached my goal to have an absolute maxed-out TH8 base. Took me around 165 days to complete the journey.











Im now planning to retire from the game for I cant allot the same amount of dedication for TH9

Thanks to Shadow for coming up with the Trial of Anubis Layout, and also for the person who created the Roundhouse

I can now finally use my Troll layouts.



And here are my last 9 raids, because I dont have any use for Elixir, i raid using nothing but GoWiPe
