My fellow TH8'ers, this is our thread. How are you guys doing? (Part 2)

If you are hurting for loot, I have been having some great luck hunting in the lower leagues. I have been from Bronze III up to Silver I.

This is what I have been doing: Start in Silver I. 'Next' through 10 bases, if you don't find anything good, dump your king on number ten and surrender. Rinse and repeat all the way down to Bronze III. Once you have hit bottom, stop surrendering and three start back up to Silver I.

I am using a BARCH type army. 82 Barbs, 82 Archers, 20 Goblins and 8 WB's.

I am contemplating the jump.

I have a few troops to upgrade still.
In 7 days my defense will be maxed.
and I have around 40 some odd purple walls left.

I might start the ugprade and grind out the remaining walls.

Finish the walls! I waited until everything was maxed except dark troops. I am very happy that I did. With the cost of bows for gold and camps/research/spell factory for elixir it will make you time a lot easier to wait and finish up at TH8. You've got both elixir and gold needs to finish so hang tight. If you get to the point either is finished you can go ahead without being in to much of a bind but don't hurry to much.

Yes I will try and finish them. I have maxed every base up until this point.

I started as a TH8 on 7/25/2014 and just completed the journey. Definitely enjoyed this thread along the way and all those that contribute to it.

Had trouble uploading the pics of my base and lab. I maxed everything and had full storages when TH9 upgrade completed. TH8 was a lot of fun.

I guess for me this is a quick visit.... currently doing townhouse 9 upgrade. Not fully maxed on defenses but need to upgrade my lab again soon.

in farming mode (th outside) it does perfectly against BARCH, BAM and Balloonion, it gets 2 stared by GoWiPe and by GoVaPe (due to slow movement speed of units), and gets busted by any "20 lvl 6 giants and something" attack (if attacker knows how to do it).

- the unbeatable th7 strategy with massdrags and 3lightning spells gets harder at th8. i got my drags to lvl 3 as soon as possible, as well as the ragespell to lvl 5
but if you want this 3 stars against another th8base in clanwar you ll need 10 lvl 3 drags 2 rage 1 heal (cause there wont be many dragons left at the end of the battle to profit from a third ragespell!!!), a barbking with at least lvl5 AND another lvl3 drag in your cc!!!

- depends on the opponents base, but if cc can be lured masshogs (minimum lvl3) with 3heal (its all about your opponents giant bombs, if they are lvl3...BUMMM)

- i started to work on gowipe having mages leveled to 5 but golems and pekka still at 1 --- this needs training time for placement and deploying timing of troops. after a few raids you´ll easily 2 star a th8 with (2 golems 3 pekkas 6 wb an rest wizzards (cc full of wizzards)) BUT i can´t see how to manage a three star at this point (leveling pekka to 2 at the moment...lets see)

- forget your giants as long as they are not lvl6 (so you´ll have to wait till th9). they´ve earned a break. buy them a ticket to mauritius - they did a great job for you from th4 to th6

100% maxed, all storages and collectors full. Expensive troops in the queue as additional storage.

People like to speak in absolutes about this game: always do this, never do that, can't do this, etc, but doing what works best for you is all that really matters. I've found most of the "truths" about this game are either situational, matters of opinion, or both. Be flexible, try new things, don't let other people's absolutes constrain your game. Things that work for other people may not suit your style or your schedule.

i was using the same clan war attack strat and i found a lot more success when i used 2-3 pekka's as well as the giants and wizards. the only issue is that if your clan loses the war, you can lose a lot of elixir
