Just hit TH8 last night, now the work begins (again)!! Need to go through the last 10 or so pages. I need to find a new base design for th8 and specific to the new 4th mortar. Right now I only have the AT, Wiz, 4th Mortar, gold and elixir storages built. I have a lot to do!
Edit: Any of you folks recommend some bases I look at for a new TH8?

The closer I get to maxing out my base structure wise the more tempted I am to rush to TH9. I don't know how long it'll take me to get level 8 walls, but whenever that is, I'm upgrading to th9.
Raylek I've been saying the same thing. But I really want to max my spells before going up. But I'm new here and what a great thread to read.
If you want an "unusual" TH8 farming base try looking at Trial of Anubis made by Shadow or at Avernicus' (another forum member) bases. I am also using The ROUNDHOUSE for a few months now as a war base and so far it's quite ok, not really great though.Originally Posted by cigarsnscotch

I have my builders idle now for around 1 month and I am an already strcture-wise maxed-out TH8, the reason im not upgrading is that i still have around 2 months worth of Lab research upgrades to go.
Im not in a hurry, i reached master's league while waiting for upgrades and im planning to reach champion's league in the next few weeks. ALso, i am helping my clan mates by training nothing but lvl 5 wizards and donate them all the time, lvl 5 wizards are scary and having 5 of them in a clan castle will greatly increase the chances of winning a raid. I also got the Friend In Need achievement of having 25k worth of housing donation(s).
If you think that you can go to TH9 already even without maxing things out then just go, you play the game the way you want to play it, but in my case, i think ill be playing this game for another 1-2 years down the line so i'd rather max things out.

THe base is simply to wide/ big and having 10 slow dragons attack this wont make it in time. I suggest you attack this with a Th8 GoWiPe and spreading your troops in a wide area of attack thus covering more ground as time goes by.You guys think this base is possible with mass lvl 3 dragons?

10 WBs
3+1 Pekkas (1 in CC)
2 Golems
11 Wizards
2 heals + 1 lightning
1. You simply can't lure the clan CC unless you use a hog, so bring 1 lightning.
2. Deploy 1 pekka on compartment 7 corner to wipe the structures there, another on compartment 9
3. Deploy 2 golems on compartment 8 and when defenses lock on the golem , deploy your 2 WB's puncturing a hole through.
4. Deploy some wizards followed by ur CC pekka on compartment 8
5. Deploy your final pekka on compartment 6 with Wbs and wizards (or 3)
6. When CC troops go out zap them with lightning, preferably on top of a defense structure to also deal damage on the structure
7. Deploy the final set of Wbs on the other compartments
8. Deploy the heal spells as needed

Im maxing my de troops at th9 lvl when I get the 2nd drill. All my de is going into my king right now. I'm sure as well that I'll be playing in the future as I love this game. I'm yet to try myself above crystal league as it gets hectic up there but once my base and spells are done I might try it out. Good practice for wars anyway.
And as for loot I stick in silver 1. Its the best for me I barch all day long and it kept 5 builders very busy.

tesla upgrading to lv 6 . After that will do the AD to Lv 6. Bk is also upgrading to lv 8 . Currently unlocking golem for gowipe. For current i only use dragon in war since it lv 3 . guess ill enjoy th8 for another couple of months . GG is 222m for now.

What are you guys using for a War base. My splash is maxed (except for 4th mortar) ad maxed, working on teslas, canoons and at a mix of 7-8. Walls 25 skulls 200 purple. Ground attacks and hogs seem to be the worst on my since i maxed all the splah and ad. I just got 3 starred by a th8 with 30 hogs.
Dropping in a new update. As of now I am level 80. Wiz Towers Maxed, Teslas have 1 level on one before all 3 are maxed. 2 cannons with 1 level to go rest are maxed. Most archer tower have 1-2 levels left, mortars are all maxed. Mines about half are maxed with the rest 1 upgrade to go. All spells are maxed out, troops behind on Val, Goblin and Healer everything else maxed.
My biggest issue is walls, maybe 10% are level 7 and the rest are level 6.
Really working on all the walls now.
I actually am kind of curious how high of a level I can go as TH8?
Recently decided to trophy push to Masters. I was about 100 trophies away when I left for work, my guess is by the time I get home it will be 140 trophies to go. I was in Crystal 3 when someone in my Clan asked if I was going to go for Master and I thought, why not.
I like a challenge and I find going up against TH9 and TH10 makes me a much better Clan War attacker.
Well hopefully later this weekend I will make Masters, after that I will probably go back to Crystal 3 is my guess or Gold 1.
