Yup! It took a lot of boosting, a lot of gems, and a lot of hours per day off..
But, it's possible.. With little sleep added into the mix.

Mortar completed to lvl 6, my village is now structure-wise maxed out . Have lots of lab research left though.




Time and resources left for an absolute maxed out TH8

To each their own man, but I'm around the same progress as you (maybe a little less for DE troops done in the lab) and my TH9 upgrade finishes in 3.5 days. I couldn't stand waiting around with idle builders for 11 weeks!

the time that i dont spend upgrading means time for me to train wizards/ pekka/ drags non-stop, even during non-war times the default that i donate are lvl 5 wizards which helps the clan members either for pushing, farming, or defending, even TH10 clanmates of mine appreciate lvl 5 wizards in their CC. i am also nearing that 25K Friend in Need gem reward (around 5k housing donations to go).

Also, this is a good time for me to practice different attack types, GiWiPe/ GoWiPe/ Balloonian/ Dragoonian/ BAM. Once i upgrade to TH9, it will be very difficult to try to upgrade the things that i left out in TH8, also, im sure the future METAGAME changes that Supercell will introduce will make the usually unused troops (healers/ gobs/ valks) more powerful, so better upgrade them sooner than later.

I will upgrade once i absolutely max out my TH8 which is around February next year.

(Or maybe try reaching champion's league as a TH8)

I see you're in crystal now so nothing much you can do about th9 attacks, but did it serve well in the lower leagues? The layout is just so unusual, and I like bases with unique looks. And what do you think about the current one I have? Any pointers? I've been in crystal myself, but just recently dropped so can't even tell how it will work

If anyone has a good farming base that they'd like to share with me, that would be pretty amazing. I keep getting hit and they are taking pretty large chunks of my loot.. It has been a bit messy for me. >.< Feel free to mail me, if you'd like to. Thanks in advance if anyone can come through with some help!

Regarding performance, this base layout is quite "different" and your storages are quite exposed to the attacker. so up to you if you'd want to protect either the gold or the elixir by swapping the storages with the least important storage nearest to the outside. In the lower leagues, the only time i lose quite an amount of resources is when i get attacked by a fellow maxed out TH8 or a Th9.

The base im using is a modified version of the Trial Of Anubis by Shadow

Regarding your current layout, it looks resistant to Barch and Giant based attacks. Though if really would like to attack you i'd come from the top left to lure your hero and mayeb use a GoWiPe, or destroy the outer structures with a few units and do a mass drags or drags + balloons with rage.

And about my base...Yeah I mostly wanted it to be resistant to barch and giant+healers. The basic stuff, as that is what people attack the most with. At least in the lower leagues.

And btw, Fedor does not look amused

Personally, as an almost maxed out TH8'er, I'm frustrated. I seem to change farming bases every few days. I cannot keep losing 2000 Dark Elixer every 24-48 hours and expect to keep playing this game. I thought the 4th mortar would help but experienced TH8 attackers seem to get in no matter what base layout I use.

Does this mean it's time to upgrade to TH9, or is this just a fact of life?
