Hi Guys, Just found this thread.... Sweet idea for a discussion on TH8!
Currently I have been farming around 1500-1600 trophy range.. Is that not a good place to be? I see a lot of you guys are farming much lower but I don't seem to get the d.e. I need at those levels...
If you need DE without going high, Gold 3 is a good place to be. I can be safer down below as Bwandowando mentioned, but I like a moderate stream of DE coming in. Maybe after maxing out DE upgrades, going lower would be a good idea.

Yeah if/when I max out d.e upgrades before I am at the end of TH8 Maxing I will drop but I don't see that happening as my BK is lvl 4 and I have only upgraded minions once at the research lab... so thats like 300k+ d.e still to go??Originally Posted by arunt
Probably closer to 400k if you want to do Golem upgrade as well. I have not calculated the exact amount required myself.

Ah true, forgot about him. I think my base/walls will be funny upgraded by the time I get to him though so he might have to be a th9 upgrade. Unless I wanna do Golem before hogs maybe...
I'm not understanding the few posts on here with over 300m GG and still not max walls/full max. I'm at 234m, 21 skulls away from max walls and one more lvl on my teslas away from full max. Basically a little over 20m away from full max.
I'm new to TH8. Just got there last night.
I've built all the new walls (upgrades still required), deployed all new traps, building 1 tesla (needed the extra tesla for war), and upgrading CC and DE storage at the moment.
I'm looking for a hybrid (farming/trophy) base design before I create the other buildings. Can you please send me base design recommendations?

Right, over 300m should be maxed out for sure... Keep in mind though that walls can be upgraded with elixir too now. Did you use elixir at all to do your walls? If so you can't directly correlate gold grab to how mature a base is (even though at 300m GG they should definitely be there...)
I am at about 160m gold grab. I have 203 walls yet to make into skulls. That's gonna cost me 101.5 million elixir/gold to do.
I have about 45mil gold left in building upgrades so if I used only gold for walls (which won't happen) I will end up around 300mil gold used to max TH8 once all is said and done.
So I guess if they were upgrading all their stuff before the update to allow elixir for walls it would make more sense. Not sure. just offering my initial thoughts!

Seems to be working well so far. Most people just take the 5 trophies from the TH which is located in the top corner. One guy 3 starred me who was a max TH9 when I had 5mil gold/elixir in my storages but thats all. Let me know what you think!
