I read forums daily. The most common thing I read about is clan war matchmaking, most of it complaining. To be honest we haven't seen quite as extreme of cases as others, I'm in a relatively new clan and 36-0, I'm the only TH9 and everyone else ranges from TH6-8. We have had several match ups where we face TH10's with inferno's but even still most of the time we have the capability of getting 1-2 stars on them depending on their development, layout and hero levels. I've been 3 starred a few times by these same TH10's to a max gowiwi or gowipe. We still end up winning since the few TH10 won't carry the rest of their clan. Since from the TH9 and down we tend to 3 star all of the rest of them most of the time unless the TH9 are much further developed than I am.

I've seen some extreme idea's on the forums that Supercell will just never initiate and feel like they're just wasting their breath. So I would rather present a super easy solution, and something Supercell may "actually" consider. I've seen things as extreme as telling higher TH they can't attack a lower TH, or that our troops are restricted to certain numbers and troop levels when attacking lower TH. C'mon guys, when you really think about it, SC will NEVER implement that suggestion. They aren't going to change the base and troops you spent all your tireless time (and sometimes money) as punishment for attacking lower during wars. There's already enough penalties related to loot for attacking lower TH. This would satisfy 1000's but infuriate millions, SC will simply never do it.

Sometimes we just get a match up where we look at the other clan and we heavily outmatch them... and then half way through the war I check their member status and 1/2 of them are gone. Kind of sad since wrecking clans isn't exactly our intention. The war we are in now is another match in our favor and I'll be shocked if we don't get a perfect score.

But it seems as though it is a big problem to others so my solution is this....

When starting a war let the one that starts have more than one button to press.

One to be made to say "quick match"
One to be made to say "exact match"

A disclaimer or warning can pop up under either where the "quick match" will have expanded search parameters right from the start but will match your clan in less than 5 minutes guaranteed. Some clans prefer this.

A disclaimer or warning on "exact match" will pop up with very narrow search parameters, and these parameters would never "expand" over time if a match is not found. In fact the algorithm will simply run for 24 hours or longer if that is required. Exact match will not be perfect... there's no such thing. But it will have narrow enough parameters that when the 2 clans look at each other you'll both easily be able to say you have an equal chance just as the other would.

Pros: It lets the clan decide what is more important to them, sacrifice time for a more even match, or sacrifice match parameters for a quick find. Quick continuous wars always running or the choice of a level playing field at your clans sacrifice of "time" to find that match. The choice is now in the players hands.

Let's also say one team chooses exact match and the opponent picked quick match, these two can still be matched evenly across the board if they fit the parameters properly. So you can still get even matches with quick match but it'd work very similar to our current system.

Cons: 1) The options selected by players may be too "one sided" where too many clans pick exact match and too much server space is required for algorithms to be constantly "running" while 150,000 clans are finding an exact match, bogging down server performance.

2) Exact match just never finds a suitable match frustrating players to cancel search and run a quick search just to get back into a war if it doesn't find something quickly.


Even though I personally don't have any issue with matchmaking "yet"... I'm sure we will in the future as our entire clan develops more into the TH9-10 phase. Right now I think we're all a bit too "premie" to make any judgments on it. Personally I'd always pick quick match so the war start and stop time cater to my own personal schedule along with the rest of the clan. But to others it would seem favorable to sacrifice the time it takes to find a match to find a more suitable opponent. SC I vote let the players decide .
