Currently defense and good base building is underrated..as a matter of fact one can win a lot of defenses and still be loosing resources. Trap based bases are currently only good for the first attack. The reset cost is a punishment for good trap placement.
Two suggestions >
1. reset traps automatically without cost if no shield is triggered.
2. Reward the defender with elixir for every killed unit.
