I didn't read the whole topic but I want to say 1 thing.
Barch is more effective then you think. I have been using it for months and will be using it in the future upcomming months.
It's really nice against those townhall 8 storage raids![]()

If your nexting this much then your doing it wrong. While your nexting for 300k, assuming your a th10, how many bases have you seen that offered 50k? 75k? 100k?
While nexting for that long, you could have settled for lower loot plus bonus but you get them often. Learn how to adjust to changing times and you will never suffer.
U can use barching in many ways, to get 1 star of bases while trophy pushing, its not that bad. And about your problem all you need to do is just search bases longer thats all you need to do or find the right league to farm in.
Okay,
Let's try it this way.
(I used barch and there was a time I earned something)
When I barch my elix costs are 72.000 (120/120 archers 7, barbs 7)
Without using spells.
Tell me what kind of villages should I attack to earn something. Then I can tell you they are not there for me.
How often should I next, next, next. Should I be glad with for example 30.000+ elix after losing gold?
Should I be glad with 30.000+ gold and losing elix?
Is this what you barchers are telling me or am I missing something?
Im actually using bam so my elix cost is less than that. But lets go with your barch cost.
Why do you have to search 30times? And even if you search 30times for 30k, bonus loot still pay for that. Losing elix? Then hit the first base that you see with 75k elix you can get from collectors. Or farm higher. Masters league bonus is nice. Barchable bases everywhere. If course everybody wants 400k every raid, but what are you gonna do if you cant find it? Lose more gold looking for it?
You have barch7, what else do you need elix for other than walls? Unless your a new th10.
I completely disagree with what your saying. I have been barching since Th7 and i am now a mid th9. Yes the loot isn't as good as it use to be as in not finding as many collector raids but here is why barch is more efficent:
1. Barch is one of the quickest armys to train in the game.
2. Spell aren't always necessary on storage raids. If you have one hero, (preferably queen), you won't need spells on most th8s unless they have max defense or max splash.
3. Although there aren't as many collector raids, there are still quite a few out there. If you do a two hour boosting session with barch and you are decent barcher you will be finding 5 or so dead bases on average which will be a little less then half of your raids. So in saying that you should be making at least 2.5mill gold/elixir per 2 hours. Of course this depends on how good loot is at the time. Sometimes you have bad session sometimes you have good sessions, but barching in Gold II league as a th9 I find is a good spot to raid.
Overall barch is a great strategy and can still be used if you know how to use it.

Musashi,
You are right I don't need elix in my village. I am maxed out, gold and elix. (except for walls and king and queen) But I don't like playing a game hitting bases for 75k. ALL the time. There was a time I attacked somebody only when they had 200k of each. Then my standards were lowered to 150k each. At the moment I am happy finding someone with ONLY 100k gold. Should I go lower? I do not think so. Should I be happy when I have 1 great day? My answer is no.
Thanks for your reaction.

I completely agree with you, but like I said earlier, we need to adapt to changes. When loot is nowhere to be found, i settle for 50k, but when theres an abundance of 100k bases i dont attack anything lower, when im seeing inactives, then thats all i look for.
When I was a th8, I was lucky to have extra bonus when attacking higher th which made it even easier for me.
When I was a th9, they change how storage loot was calculated, th10 and hoggers always try to take my loot that I save for my upgrades.
And now th10, where loot is not hard, but all these expensive upgrades just results to endless grinding.
Adapt to changes to survive. I know you have because of where you say you are now.
