The forum is highly negative at the moment, which is fair enough people have the right to air their views.
however at the moment I am really enjoying the game since getting level 5 troops I have never found it easier to get loot and I am looking forward to getting my golems tomorrow. I enjoy this game and find it a great way to pass time. Maybe it will get harder when I reach TH9 but if it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing.

What's the ideal attack strategy for the golem? as a meatshield supported by archers and barbs like the giants?
Golems are a more high end troop. Paired with pekkas, wizards, and spells, it is the most powerful attacking setup right now.

Typically, because of the high DE cost for golems, it's for higher troph gameplay and its supplemented typically by wizards behind them. Archers and Barbs tend to get phased out before then.
Think Giant+archer, as a good analogy.

It is ok to be negative when negative is warranted. Being positive when the situation is negative puts us in denial, leaving no room for progress.
golems are super fun. Just remember to send them in with troops that do high dps. Also note tendency of people to get upset when they get golemed. Lol. Its hard to defend against them.
Looking forward to using them now. Trying to save DE for barb king level 5 upgrade so will have to use sparingly.
