Solution to de/lightning problem!!

The use of Lightning Spells are more previllant at Lower trophy counts...

I assume this, as already stated, is due mainly down to the fact that Players higher in Trophies are not willing to "waste" their gold on Lightning Spells (for DE attacks at least) and more likely will use Rage or maybe even heal.

I accept that my DE will be targeted due to the Farming range im in and i accept this loss, especially if it is a revenge attack, as most likely I took their Gold.

Its how the CoC economy functions, raiding other players resources or im some rare cases even Trophies.

I found that upgrading the Storage although expensive helped a little but the fequency of lightning does drop severly the higher up in Trophies you go...Then you lose your DE by Dragon Attacks

So here is something I posted I another one of the infinite other threads of this ilk. For context I've had 1000+ de stolen by a th9 using 3 lvl 5 lightnings against my th8 de. So I figure if they used 4 they could have gotten 1300ish de. The point i am trying to make is that lighting on de is vastly more impactfull than lightning on gold/elixir.

i do currently "deal with" the lightning, and i don't begrudge those who do it since there are definitive economic incentives to farm that way. i do, however, feel that there is an imbalance in the efficacy of lightning on DE as compared to gold/regular elixir.


at th 8 i had 3 max gold storages. lets take that lightning attack from the th 9 i pictured above and pretend it was instead directed at a gold storage, the most they could raid in total would have been 198,000 less the 10% loot penalty, so roughly 180,000. that 180,000 is split up among 3 storages, so each storage has roughly 60,000 gold.


their lightning attack could have taken 1,300 DE if they used a 4th spell, which is 72% of the raidable amount for them (which would be 1,800). If they did the same thing on the gold storage they would have gotten 72% of 60,000 which would be roughly 44,000 gold.


the above math isn't 100% exact because there is some HP difference between gold and DE storage but 44k gold is in the ballpark, and 44k gold vs 1.3k DE is a pretty huge difference considering the relative difficulty in farming 44k gold vs 1.3k DE.

Move to 1700+ trophies. Very few TH7's there. If a TH8/9 lightnings your DE... that's just sad. There's always the revenge button. And if they revenged you, consider it a compliment. Your base was too strong so that was their only resort.

My favorite thing to do when going through my revenge list!

I don't feel bad at all to revenge these TH9 users with lightning spells when they can level my TH7 base with level 6 troops, King/Queen and Rage spells.
