Kik is ok. But their ToS states you must be over 18 to sign up to it (fat chance of that happening)

You can try "BAND" app. Its really easy to use and has more features than GlassBoard.
We use GroupMe a fair bit - seems to be pretty good.
Now retired from YouTube, feel free to say hi I always like a good chat
I still run my twitter account it's @daddy_clash (although I rarely tweet)
We are trying out Band and Slack. Both work pretty well. No preference either way yet.

I dl'ed BAND ... seems like it could be an option ... the PC environment (login, popups) is a bit slow though

Why do you need to use the app on pc? Surely people can just download it on their portable device and it's much easier? When I used glassboard, I never tried the pc version.
