Re-read the statement you quoted and try to comprehend its proper meaning. I say that because the picture you have posted clearly indicates you don't understand what I'm trying to tell you.

    Dahimi you first said that:

Whether you like it or not, the league badges are a good indicator.

And then u went on to this:

Trophies and hence leagues have the potential to show a true measure of player strength.

Are and have the potential aint the same...

Ok from what i am seeing till now, Leagues Bonus help you sustain your elixir and gold income... nothing more nothing less ... someone who trophy hunts if he needs to upgrade any defence he has two options: 1. gem it 2. or drop to farmlands..... so from a farmer's perspective Leagues are still no NO.

I don't get why everyone is so up in arms about player level... its a 2-3 digit number that means nothing.

Personally I prefer having the trophy icons, actually shows at what "skill" level the player is in terms of raiding. Anyone below Gold III is usually a farmer but anyone above that is usually pushing for trophies. If you are that worried about how well their base is developed visit their friggen base.

for a trophy hunter you don't have to drop to the farmlands to pay for an upgrade... if you are strategic in army composition and troop placement you can profit quite nicely... and most upgrades cost gold and trophy hunting consists more of using elixir... maybe the 2 options you stated are your only options...

edit: thus showing player skill making badges more relevant that a number. in the clash of clans confessions one member posted:

    Thumbs up

Ultimately, shield rank don't tell you squat... it just tells you their current situation when trophies are concerned. There are ppl out there WHO are farmings that I know and can hit 3k easily.

You are quoting me out of context. What I said was:

Whether you like it or not, the league badges are a good indicator. They just aren't great in the crystal and below levels. Few performance based clans are going to turn down people with master badges.

Now tell me. What rank badge does the person have in that picture? Go ahead, I'll wait.

So the league bonus helps you sustain your elixir and gold income. I agree with this. Now consider what happens when Supercell adjusts those bonuses to where they are suddenly attractive while simultaneously decreasing overall loot availability. Trophies will suddenly become a lot more valuable.

I hope you are right, you have been supporting a lot Leagues but i don't think that supercell will adjust the bonus more than they already have...( unless they are willing to take a cut from their profits)

If a trophy hunter can farm and go for trophies at the same time ... it will be great but it seems like a far fetched scenario at least for now and the coming months.

Leagues have been out for only a week or so. Let's see what happens first before crapping all over them. If things aren't different several months down the line, we can flog SC then. I firmly believe the intent will be to make trophy hunting profitable.

The lack of incentive to gain trophies is in my opinion the game's biggest flaw.

Read this and tell me your sentiments

High or low levels it has never really matter, there will always be players with bad personalities and childish tendencies, as a elder it is at your very own jurisdiction of your permitted authority by the trust of the clan leader to choose the best player for the clan's well-being. On the other hand, the clan leader have to be wiser than the elder and choose somebody they can really trust, and that means, definitely no clan elder on the first day, second day, or even a week, it takes time to trust a person, it is something even LEVELS cannot represent, the people here do not understand.

If you're the boss and you decided to recruit a person for a position, at the end of the day, when you decide to promote, you have to look at his personality and if he is reliable or not, this takes TIME and no matter how many certs and testimonials he have, a first hand experience with a person is always the most credible.

No one is trying to make the arguement you outlined. We are not stupid enough to think level should ever be the sole indicator of who to let into a clan. (Re)read the thread and you will see what we are really talking about.
