TH9 is a game changer. I contemplated sticking around TH8 until I maxed my Walls.
I gave in at 117 walls. The first week or so was rough, being new to TH9 and open to higher level attacks, but eventually it died down and I'm glad I went TH9.
Now, I'm 13 Lego Walls in.... cracking out Dark Troop upgrades and able to kick butt in War.

Two Xbows on Defense = Awesome
If walls are your thing then stay at TH8. But as for upgrading DE troops..... the second DE drill goes a long way.Originally Posted by Salsamander
I'm not going to admit how low my walls were when I hit TH9 but I think that lvl7 is ok to start off TH9. The better your walls... the more likely you are to be hit by TH9's and TH10's. My personal experience anyhow.
But do upgrade your teslas.

If you don't max at 8 you're less likely to catch up a 9 becuase of the loot penalty.
definately teslas. get most of the walss too. not necessarily all of them, but a lot

I think this is in large part a matter of personal preference. I loved going into TH 9 with all defenses and walls upgraded, 3 of 4 barracks at level 10, BK at level 10 and all troops and spells upgraded except valks and golems.
I had 4 free builders and full storages when I hit TH 9, purchased 2 x-bows immediately, started lab and got AQ and immediately upgraded her to level 2.
I have a clan member who was far less maxed who went to 9 earlier because he wanted skulloons and x-bows. We are both happy with our choice.
However, you have 30 days of Tesla upgrades left at TH 8 levels and when you get to TH 9 you have over 80 days of additional Tesla upgrades even if you max Teslas at TH 8. If you wait on skull walls and want to max skulls at TH 9 you will have three levels of walls to do and there are 250 walls.
Go to TH9 purple walls are good enough for a th9

True, but walls truly arent much of an issue. I can raid and raid. The gold should be around 112 million, and with the recent elixir wall update, it shouldnt be too hard. Around a month of raiding perhaps yes, but looting isnt a problem.
The main question was that whether the TH9 starting upgrades i would get if i immediately went to TH9 would outweigh the benefits got from being stuck in TH8 just for maxing out.

Max your teslas.
While you max your BK work on walls.
Wherever you are on walls when you finish your BK, just upgrade your TH then.
You should have a good chunk of your skulls done, and your BK will be a beast on the battlefield.
