I've reached TH10 and I only upgraded in order to max my Lab so i can further progress my upgrades (ie pekka level 4+5, wizard level 6, etc..). I think the loot penalty for TH diff of 2 or lower is too much.
Most bases now have good defense and I need to build a strong army that costs me almost as much elixir as I loot (since barb archers don't cut it anymore). And for upgrades requiring 7.5 Million Elixir, this becomes very difficult to obtain. It's supercell's way of forcing you to gem upgrades. Doesn't make a fun experience to the game.
My suggestion is to either reduce the elixir upgrade costs or reduce the loot penalty for TH diff of 2 (currently 50%) or more.
I've always enjoyed looting at earlier stages in the game since the Loot to Cost ratio was high. Now that ratio is very very low. Again, the entertainment experience exponentially reduces as you move up further in the game due to this imbalance in Loot vs Cost ratio.
