That's what happens when SC relies on user-generated content instead of making their own official FAQ/informational website. They even advertise the wiki, which they have absolutely no control over. It's strange.

True but Supercell's issue is that they are frequently changing things.

Their official stance is that they don't give out the info that the wiki contains because they don't want to say one thing and the next day do another. Also the players' capacity to write articles detailing various aspects of the game greatly outstrips Supercell's ability to do so. After all the game has millions of players. No way would Supercell have content like Flammy's strategy guides. The wiki itself has 1000's of images and currently 20 staff members. There are also efforts underway to translate the wiki into different languages.

Despite Supercell's lack of involvement I think the wiki is a pretty accurate and valuable resource when jerks aren't vandalizing it. The staff is pretty good about rolling back most instances of it as well, but sometimes things such as this slip through.

I agree. It's annoying when people shoot down wikis for a few false pieces of information amongst thousands of gems of information not available from Supercell, like the loot penalty. Wikis are, in general, a great source of information, because crowdsourcing is powerful. Also, if something doesn't make sense, you can always fact-check like the OP.
