I wish I could give you a different reply, but I can’t. The league badge will continue to replace XP level as the default symbol in most places, like in chat. We’ll continue showing both in clan info, top list and when visiting.
The core of this game is about mastering multiplayer matches (measured by trophies). Having a strong village (measured by XP level) helps you getting there, but the heart and soul of the game is how well you have attacked and defended against other players.
That said, I really enjoy the village building aspect, just like everybody else
