Yes
No
Maybe so

Overall I would like to see a chamge in the win settings:
1st star for doing 55% damage, giving 8 hour shield
2nd star for getting th, giving 12 hour shield
3rd star for doing 100% damage, giving 16 hour shield
Change the current requirement of 40% of shield to 30% to increase chance that inactives will get picked from matchmaking and give them time to get fatter. However drop the duration from 12 to 8 hours.
This would make winning more difficult in order of making the game more challenging. Hopefully also keeping more richer bases on offer.
If you can win loot with a defensive victory most will start protecting their th. Win/win for everyone. As it is now a defensive victory will cost you potentially lots of lost loot plus recharge xbows and infernos and reset traps/bombs. No incentive there to risk that much loot when odds are you leave th out and get a cheap shield 80% of the time. A defensive win is worthless unless you're pushing right now.
I vote yes. I don't find the town hall out/sniping lifestyle very sporting. I want to attack active bases, and revenge the guy who attacked me, but everyone is hiding behind a shield.. come on out and play! .

Open THs are how I get around
Seriously... I was at 1700, had a full Barch army (+Heroes) and got to 1800 in a matter of minutes WITHOUT replenishing troops (training dragons for War)

Casual Player. Not someone who will stay online for the 6 hour barching non-stop. That's not casual.
The Casual Player is like me. I cook a Loonion Army that takes an average 40 minutes. When I get the notification, I may attack if I'm not busy, but it could be hours in between each raid. At the very minimum, it's 40 minutes I'm logged off between raids.
So as a casual player, I would get raided at least once for every time I attack. If they don't manage to get 40% and I get raided multiple times, I'll forever be falling back.
Thus more unplayable by the casual player. Only thing that saves me is that I get TH sniped fairly quickly and often.
If I didn't have that and all attacks on me were full attacks for my loot, I wouldn't be able to play at all. One step forward, two steps backwards.
This is why Boom Beach, to me, is fairly unplayable. I'm off for a day and I log on and I have 6 attacks against my base and I have zero loot. Great, I got 12 diamonds for being raided, wonderful!

They should hold 100k each 1500de at th10 and work down from their. More bases would be in the que and less th34578 in crystal to next over. Problems with the econemy would be fixes. A larger win bonus would help too
How many people here realise that everytime a TH is sniped by some nobody th7 trying to hit masters / champions or your average farmer they could potentially be shielding a very highly lootable base?
Changing the TH sniping system is one the many ways SC could improve loot. Lowering the shield one receives to (4 hours?) from a sniped TH or by only allowing a player to only be shielded once the attacker has hit 40/50% as an example.
The TH shield system in place is currently overlooked. There are so many ways in which they could fiddle around with the way sniped townhalls, % & shields are dealt out to improve loot alone without even needing to adjust the storage / mines % / cap raidable. Not to the mention the host of other things which could be tweaked or added to improve the situation.

No. Not a good idea. Not even an idea.
