    I think SC will lower the health of the golem unfortunately. It's a very good troop, and probably the most useful one in the Dark Troop group.

    Didn't say that you should do that; I'm just saying if they didn't have WBs it might take a while for them to break through

    Infernos work

    The best defense on the golem is an inferno set to single target. What is tough is trying to defend against GoWipe and Loonion, as I feel the multi-target inferno works better against the loons.

    No matter what someone will be able to take a given base for at least one star. You can only best plan to defend against the more common attacks. If you keep getting hit with Golem, increase walls to slow them down and use infernos on single. If loon is more common, make air defense a priority, etc.

    Also base designs that entice Pekka, golem, etc to play "ring around the townhall" are the best defense to keep the attacker from getting three stars.

    Yeah basically if you're getting hit with golems you're mainly going to be relying on a few things:
    CC troops to come out and do some quick damage to them before the attacking troops take them out.
    Splash damage/giant bombs taking out the golem's supporting troops (wizards, witches, archers)
    Heroes doing some heavy damage to the golems
    High level point defenses (cannons, teslas, archer towers)

    Pretty much it right there, that's what you have to rely on in defending against a heavy hit like that, except a good base layout which should go without saying.

    If your problem is golems being too tanky then your problem is actually just that your base is underleveled. If I get hit by a th9 with max gowipe or gowiwi I'm looking at about 60-65%, hands down, but rarely more than that (unless they've got massive heroes). A th10 with max gowipe or gowiwi and solid heroes has a solid chance of 80-100%, given the higher level troops and heroes plus the higher army cap, but again a solid th9 can definitely put up a fight against th10's as well. On a recent push to M1 I was hit by a th10 with fully maxed everything, including heroes, he managed to get 90% (woot that 16 hour shield tho) but no three stars for him. All depends on the base, really, and the skill of the attacker.
