    New Dark Troop: The Frost Devil!

    Requires Dark Barracks Lv.7 or 8 (th10)

    FROST DEVIL original concept art



    attk speed is 1.5 seconds
    Range is equal to a Dragon

    Frost Devil
    Lv.1 Stats

    DPS-50 (about 75 per hit)(vs inferno is 225)
    HP-1800
    Training $- 300 dark
    Attk type- area splash
    Targets-ground
    Fav. Target- Inferno Tower
    Housing-15
    Train Speed- 20 min
    Mov- 16

    Lv.2
    DPS-70 (about 105 per hit) (vs inferno is 315)
    HP-2000
    Training $- 340 dark

    Lv.3
    DPS-90 (about 135 per hit)(vs inferno is 405)
    HP-2200
    Training-380 Dark

    Description: This Frozen Menace is out to destroy Inferno Towers! But beware, his icy body is fragile against the explosive power of bombs and mortars.

    Appearance: giant-sized blue skinned devil with red eyes, black devil horns, and black goatee. Wears only a black loin cloth, and has hooves for feet.

    Attack: appears the same as the dragon attack but is light blue in color and is fired from his hands.

    Strengths:

    High HP is so that other defenses have a hard time bringing him down on his way to the inferno tower; as well as so he can withstand the massive damage output they deal (at least for a moment)

    X3 damage against Inferno Towers

    Causes "Chill Out" effect when damage is dealt: Enemy attacks at half speed for 3 seconds and causes them to receive 150% damage from all other attacks (effects all targets including heroes, cc troops, defenses, walls, and all other buildings.... Since the Frost Devil attacks every 1.5 seconds, the chill out effect will remain constant so long as the frost devil continues to deal damage)

    (Key Point: chill out causes enemy DPS to be at 1/2 capacity similar to a poison spell just without draining health/and against inferno tower it also allows for troops to be healed even while under its streaming attack, which is crucial)

    (Note: only other troops will deal 150% damage to targets under "chill out", the initial frost devil that initiates the effect will continue to deal damage at 100%)

    Upon death sends out an icy shockwave with a 2 tile radius (size of lightning spell strike) that freezes everything it touches for 3 seconds
    (Main purpose is to halt the streaming attack of inferno tower so it would have to build up power again)


    Weaknesses:

    Big Bombs and Bombs do X10 Damage

    Mortars do x5 damage

    Vunerable to spring traps


    ***Note: favorite target becomes any if Inferno Towers are destroyed or none are present

    Dark Barracks Lvl 7 or 8 concept



    Offensive Strategy:

    The best way to use frost devils would be to drop them behind a golem(s) and/or giants, which will give them protection from other defenses; and will help the golem and giants do more damage to walls because of "chill out" effect. Wallbreakers or earthquake could help too.

    The idea is to get him deeper into the base and as close as possible to the inferno towers without getting hit too much, which will allow him to make short work of the inferno towers once he reaches them. (Once infernos are under the chill out effect any troops it attacks can be healed making a golem in front of the frost devil a very effective strategy)

    Another use for this troop is to drop him AFTER both infernos are already destroyed, because then he will attack anything near him and his chillout effect can help your remaining army deal more damage to the rest of the base.
    (Similar to how the volcano mage concept would function) this would be its primary use in a th10 vs th9 battle, giving th10 a useful edge over th9 since no inferno towers are present to begin with

    Defensive Strategy:

    Use good placement of bombs, spring traps, and big bombs, spread out your mortars so all four effectively cover the center of your base, and try to make the inferno towers as difficult to reach as possible.

    THIS would be an awesome troop to have become available at th10, and would give th10 something more to offer now that freeze spells have been made available at th9.

    could it be improved?

    Thank you for taking notice, any suggestions on where it might be lacking or what might improve the concept?

    It's obviously meant as a higher level combatant since only level 10 th get the inferno towers... But that is a very challenging obstacle to get around in higher level raids, and if used right a troop like this would really come in handy

    Feedback

    First off, cute idea but let's mox it up seeing as it's the devil n all. Imagine first off that it is weak to nothing and has a times 2 of infernos. The catch with this guy i when he attacks the inferno, it pea mantle allows troops to be healed in that area. Also, when he breaks level 11 walls since he is made of ice or water, he gets zapped and loses a small amount of health. Not sure if you hit gold yet but keep digging because your mining in the right direction

    This troop does do X2 damage to inferno towers, that's what he's intended to destroy.

    As such, he needs a weakness to keep him balanced and not OP.... because CoC is built on this idea of having things balanced out. Its what makes the game strategic.

    The Frost Devil would share the same weakness of the hog riders against big bombs, AND wizard towers do double damage to him. i think those are legitimate balances.

    this troop aims for inferno towers, so if one is present you would need to a clear a path to them for him to get to if you wanted to use him effectively; otherwise he'd be stuck fighting through walls and soaking up damage.

    I kinda of like the idea of him taking damage when going through walls because that adds to the idea of him being fragile because he's made of ice.... But idk if that would be necessary given the weaknesses he already has.

    Not fond of him healing though. His support function occurs when he is destroyed... The frost shockwave can give your remaining troops around him a slight edge to finish off whatever defenses you're battling against (most likely an inferno tower)

    If it is an inferno tower that gets frozen this could disrupt it's streaming attack and reset it's damage back to the beginning so it would have to build up again

    Well he's already got 2 weaknesses, wizard towers and big bombs so I don't think he'd need a 3rd one.

    Could switch it to tesla instead of wizard tower, but magic hurting an ice demon makes more sense than electricity.

    It'd make sense if he were a water devil, but then it wouldn't make sense for him to freeze things when he dies.... Which actually is probably his most useful ability against inferno towers

    I do think the game needs a troop that targets inferno towers, and was hoping it would be the lava hound. Because it doesn't fly, getting to the inferno towers could be tricky though, so I do like the idea of doing extra damage to walls.

    Another interesting concept is if he doesn't really do much or any damage, but has a freezing ability that would not freeze defenses entirely, but slow them down and turn them brittle, making them easier for other troops to destroy.
