    I still use paint for the backgrounds and gimp for the renders and text. What I do is drop a base color (Red, in our case) then I get a different color. Completely different or different shade. Then I choose between watercolor and pencil sketch and paste on the color with the square tool. Then I bring it to gimp and start the sig. Also i shade it to 9 Hue with gimp as well to give it a glossy finish.

    I'd suggest using C4Ds for backgrounds. If you want to see some of them used in sigs Go Here

    I couldn't put it on top. The wizards fire ball got in the way. Whenever I tried taking the fireball out it messed the wixard up. Thats all I got.

    I think that you can improve it by doing something more with the text.
