If your in a clan and cant participate in clan wars you have to be kicked and then be re-invited back resetting your donation ratio. I think if there was a button to opt out of the war it would make things much easier and user friendly on everyone... I have 3 accounts and sometimes I really don't feel like warring with all of them...
I hope you take this into consideration on next upgrade.
