Time to rethink dark elixir storage

9 lightning spells on 3 attacks cost me approximately 2450 elixir so far today. My dark elixir storage is well protected and no enemy troops got within 20 tiles of it or even breached my walls. This seems unreasonable to me.

I was thinking maybe a dark elixir storagw level 7 that's made of rubber and impervious to lightning spells, no need to upgrade capacity, just to offer some protection against cheap attacks.

Or perhaps a defense option, similar to xbows or inferno towers. Like an option that makes it more resistant to lightning but more susceptible to other damage that you can turn on/off.

3 cheap attacks should not cost me half a day's dark elixir production especially when the attacker is making no effort to destroy my village.

I hope for no change. Although I get blasted with lightning spells on my DE all the time, I return the favor as well...do unto others as they do unto you

Hurray for yet another zapping thread. Zapping exists for a reason. It irritates you because it is working. It irritates me for the same reason. So I climb trophies and it pretty much stops. TH7's should and need to be able to zap, so you need to go where they struggle to exist.

It's the principle of the thing. If we're talking in clichés how about 'you get what you work for.'

There's no thought or strategy that goes into that, just a loophole that rewards cowardice and incompetence.

if "you get what you work for" then there is no point in raiding because raiding is stealing and that is not really considered "work"

Thanks for offering nothing constructive to the conversation by commenting on the actual ideas. I'm not even necessarily saying eliminate it, one of options is to simply make it less unreasonable a reward for a kindergarten level tactic. Lots of things that were once irritating (like hero luring) were modified because the tactic wasn't proportional to the reward/detriment.

When I go to the grocery store, I do not have to leave with a basket full of merchandise. I can pick up a pack of bubble gum and call it a day.

At TH7 you have a DE storage with no way to produce it. You MUST get it from TH8 and up players you have no chance of beating. What's more it is extremely common for TH9-10 to come down into the 1100-1400 trophy range to farm abandoned/inactive collectors. The only drawback is getting their DE zapped by people who are not worth revenging. It is a GOOD dynamic to have in the game. If you want to speak of cowardice and incompetence it would be more accurate to point your finger at the TH10s who hang out in silver 1 and gold 2-3. I don't agree but it would be more accurate than calling a TH7 zapping a TH9-10 a coward.
