Really? I have heard and seen nothing about this. You would think SC would sticky that and/or add it to the forum rules publicly. Quite often it is the best, most effective answer. The only update of this sort that I have seen is that they will delete threads containing ruled out ideas without warning. Nothing about handing out infractions to people who relay that message correctly to the OP.

yeah just go back into Tink's posts and she says that people are just upping their post count by posting that, and that she's gonna start cracking down on people who post that. It also has to do witht people wrongly posting on ideas that are under consideration and not ruled out

Yeh, I can easily say I'm not doing it for post count. It's useless to me, the only reason I celebrated 2000 posts was because 2000 was the year I was born.

What i dont get is when people post multiple times that it is ruled out even though someone already did. I mean some people will add in a link to the Stickies, but other than that, i really dont see a reason

So what if they are? They are still educating forum users so I see no harm in it.

Its a matter of multiple people saying "Ruled Out"

It only takes one person to tell the OP that it's ruled out. When you're the second, third or fourth one saying "Ruled Out" then it becomes a matter of, "Trying to up your post count"

I'll only tell an OP that something ruled out if I am the first one to respond. Once it's been mentioned, unless there's further discussion on the topic, I stay out of ruled out ideas.

Yeah i agree that it takes one person, unless they did not provide explanation for it being ruled out like in other threads' case, but if an explanation is provided (once) i dont see a reason why not to post it

This is the first I've heard about the infractions on telling people that their idea is ruled out.

I tend to agree that ONE TIME per thread is the exact right amount of times it should be said.

Zero times is not enough.
