Lightbulb Defense Tower: Hailitzer (Has Two Modes)

1st Mode. What this defense tower is is basically a modded version of a mortar, but only available in the higher town halls (I'm thinking town hall 7 to town hall 9). It functions very identical to a mortar, but the difference is that when the projectile is fired, it's a rocket (from one of those air defense rockets) that fires straight up, then points at the direction of where it wants to strike, but then the rocket will explode and a swarm of miniature versions of the rockets barrage the area around where the rocket was suppose to hit! These miniature rockets don't unfortunately do nearly as much damage as a mortar, but since there is a swarm of them, it'll cover a much wider radius then a normal mortar. The range will be increased from a normal mortar's 11 tiles to 15 tiles. In addition to that, when the big rocket explodes, if an air troop was to get caught in the explosion, the damage dealt will be the same as a seeking air mine (but that'll almost never happen since that explosion itself has a small radius). And the rockets will fly faster then a mortar. The main purpose of this is to challenge the Barcher users to think twice about where they place their troops since one mortar strike can only hit so many troops that aren't literally touching each other.

But nothing comes with disadvantages. The reloading time for this beast is signifgantly longer then a mortar's, maybe 7.5 seconds or 10 seconds. The further the target is from the Hailitzer, the more off target the rockets will be (might have a similar targetting system as the barrage in Boom Beach). The Hailitzer still has that mortar blind spot.

2nd Mode. Instead of the rockets barraging at one area, the Hailitzer could instead send one rocket to one direction, one to another direction, one to another direction, etc., spreading out all the rockets as much as possible. If all the troops are deployed in one area, the rockets will do their best trying to spread out (or it could just not work at all).

Level Damage per Second (in total)**** Damage per Rocket Damage from Mother Rocket's Explosion Hitpoints* Amount of Rockets Fired Town Hall Level Required
    1 11 or 8 20 1500*** 650 4 7
    2 17 or 13 25 1650 700 5 7
    3 24 or 18 30 1800 780 6 8
    4 37 or 28 35 1960 920 8 9
    5 53 or 40** 40 2100 1000 10 10

    * These have high hp because at th 10, you're only going to have one or two of them.
** Don't fear these OP numbers that much, it's not like all the rockets are going to hit one certain troop. If I made a DPS of just one rocket, it would be extremely unimpressive.
*** The mother rocket explosion is when the rocket comes out of the Hailitzer and points at the direction of the target, then EXPLODES into a quantity of rockets.
**** One of them is for 7.5 seconds and another is for 10 seconds, I haven't decided which one to choose from.

    Range: 4-15 tiles.
    Attack Speed: 7.5 or 10s
Damage Type: Splash - 1 tile
    Unit Type Targeted: Ground

PS. This MIGHT replace one of the third mortar.

I like the idea and the thought that you have put into this(maybe a picture) but I think that it is too similar to the mortar. However, I like that this would be a good defense against the new level 7 barbs and archers.

I like this but it is a little OP....... having the ability to strike mutie splash damage at once is totally invincible, bit this would be helpful because th 7's can truly get hardcore pounded by other 7s defiently 8 and above so this may be a good equalizer but I would never think of adding more than one of these, and probably at most 3-5 mini missiles just some advice but brilliant idea overall

The name resembles "Howitzer". Howitzers is a WAY heavier gun than a mortar. The howitzer is field artillery and they have MASSIVE range. Yes, howitzer have way less volleys than mortar is it makes sense to shoot slower. But their damage is VERY devastating.

I think to severely balance this, a little modification to your design of the defense. Howitzers are not rockets. Howitzers are huge guns em-placed in one location only pointing in one direction. Maybe you have the option of pointing the gun in one direction. The defense can turn to shoot troop side or rear of it.

This is a soviet 152mm howitzer gun from ww2.

you can probably see they are not rotation-friendly :P

    A little help

i love the idea. But it is prety overpowered. So the big one explodes in the air, only affecting air troops if theyr in the way right? So you could balance this out with a troop. One that takes maybe fifteen housing spaces, goes for defences, with moderate hitpoints and aims for this. I don't know how good this idea is, but it's a thought.

You mean a troop that soaks up splash damage? Sounds interesting.

    Thanks for your feedback every1

Interesting idea, but it seems overpowered.

    Exclamation Way to OP

Currently the only effective way to make resources without using extractors is barching, if they add this tower it will nerf that so there will be no way to make resources!
