I just had my nephew read this and he very matter of factly said to get under the comforter so the light is contained. He said in the summer if its too hot to get under comforters roll a towel and put it along the bottom of a door. (So on that note I decided I know or hear nothing)

AS for my own wife, when she is out I could have the brightness and sound both up full and none of it is going to get through.

Wait, so you're trying to get supercell to promote staying up late and disregard the rules?
    No, never!

Makes sense. You'd think I'd have thought of that instead of thinking up a complex solution that requires the braintrust at SC at a time when they have bigger fish to fry (loot...).

Yeah. This is what I usually do. It's just sometimes I fall for the old, "Oh, I'll sleep right through it." Only to be grumbled at 15 minutes later.

    OP, you do know that...

YOur phone has a volume button ans brightness setting? So you can Mute both before ever launching the game.

    Night base..

How about CoC adjusting the brightness to the real time clock of your device? The base & next clouds stay the same colours during daylight hours, but dark grey clouds and moody grey base (similar to Clan Wars) during the night?

I play Pocket Planes and this game has a similar feature. It also gives a dawn/dusk effect during early mornings and late evenings.

It probably wont stop your other half getting annoyed from nexting, but it'd be a cool addition nonetheless.

I may be the only clasher out there that raids from bed at the end of a long day with a spouse who is trying to sleep. But for me, those flashing clouds tend to irritate my wife.

In Sleeping-Spouse Mode the clouds could still flash in but they could be rain clouds, slightly darker so the whole room doesn't light up like a slow-motion strobe light as I next (and next... and next).

I'm sure teens who are up past their bedtimes don't appreciate the flare signals going off under the crack beneath their door, alerting their parents that they are sneaking in a couple last raids.

So, how about it? A simple button in settings that let's the clouds go dark and let's the rest of the family sleep, blissfully unaware of all the nexting going on a room or a pillow away.
Haha brilliant- though you could just turn down the brightness.

how about we not be lazy and change the settings before we launch the game? We can be responsible for that ourselves can't we?
