    War Problem...or COC problems?

Thank you developers now the elixir is extremely rare, wars are too expensive and a lot of players of may clan don't want wars!!!

So now farming is boring, wars are boring (and the matchmaking sucks) THE ENTIRE GAME IS BORING CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Do you have an idea or feature to request?

I'll add one. This will help with farming and the social part anyhow. Stop the splintering of clans. The screwed up economics of the game (and they are indeed, everyone deserves to profit on their work but SC has taken their greed way too far) will continue to be a problem but if they give the social part and allow family and groups of friends to do clans together that will make some willing to live with it.

I run a well organized war clan so I am in the contingent that wants this to use as a tool to better organize. (I don't consider kicking a good tool) My clan rules would not change if they added it, I will just be equipped with a smoother way of implementing them.

    How it should work...

There should be a button (it can be a new one or the war shield can be modified) that toggles a player as in or out.

Access to hit the button to toggle should go to the leader and the player in question.
---- individual players cannot opt each other in or out
---- its an argument either way to give it to co as well - Good for clans where co is a management job, bad for clans that give it out like candy. (I consider the latter to be a sign of a bad leader)
---- A leader who abuses authority to opt guys in against their wishes are really just hurting their own selves for how they are adding a risk to their war participation. (the guy might then just not attack anyhow, if not seeing eye to eye with leader he wont care)
---- A leader opting a guy out against his wishes has that prerogative to decide who he wants in his war. And its still nicer than just kicking the guy like happens now.

The status of a player is only a factor right at the time a war starts. Instead of just selecting all eligible players from the total population it will just be all eligible players from the opted in group.
---- Can even implement by leveraging the existing eligibility functionality that currently is only driven by a timer.

After that everything works the same. The list of warriors from the clan is rounded to an even 5 via the existing logic and then the matchmaking calculation takes place also using the existing logic.

A player joins a clan with his eligibility set the same way it is today. (He is in unless there is a timer)

Things that would not happen -
...A player cannot add themselves to a war after the fact. If they change their status during a war it makes no difference until the next war when that status is read at startup.
...This would not serve as a way to replace members that take off during war. if they do that then there is the same affect on the war as there is today. Unused attacks stay unused. (it will never change that this just stinks when guys pull that stunt)

Check out the link in my signature. It is the thread where SC has already responded to that request with the ongoing conversation. A little history, SC ruled it out for the upcoming patch at the time (which is the lavahound patch we just had) but will continue to evaluate changes to clan wars. Intentionally vague way to imply that it is being considered without actually answering the question.

Agreed. But I want to keep the idea at the forefront so that they DO consider it. They need to adopt it. It has to be the most heavily requested item in this forum. (If we not count the 'stuff should be cheaper to get' or 'the game should be easier to play' type stuff) Many other requests are for features the need for with would be alleviated if they added this feature. Plus the polls (several have been run on this) showed that the percentage of users that wanted it was between 80 and 90%.

Their silence has been deafening and their word smithing creative. I think it was a big miss not having it and there is some lead developer over there that is emotionally resistant to reversing themselves even while unable to argue against the logic of it all. Sometimes people that can't admit their first point was wrong would rather compound their wrongness than make any such admissions.
