Whats up.my idea is that after townhall level 6 you can start buying dark elixer with gold

An exchange building to convert between elixir, gold, dark elixir, or gems

While your suggestion is not exactly the same as what has already been ruled out, it still involves trading one type of loot for another. I believe they would consider that the same thing. Not to mention you don't even have a dark elixir storage at town hall 6.
