Clan management - active/inactive for Clan War

I am tired of kicking inactive friends from the clan. Something comes up and they can't play for a few weeks and it hurts us in wars. If I kick them, when they come back they have to find the clan again and sometimes they just don't come back at all. Would love a feature to make people inactive for wars, either as the manager of the Clan to select who is active for a clan war or something I can do individually if I don't want to participate in a war.
