What is really sad is anyone starting a thread wanting an open discussion about economy or loot has to start out defending said thread by stating this is not a loot thread in fear that the mods will send it to the proverbial trash can known as one of the "one and only....."
pretty sad the censorship the forums have fallen under....
First of all a good thread.
I do agree that making elixir more valuable was a great idea. I earn most of my elixir through inactive bases and most bases i hit have same level of gold mines and elixir collectors. Yeah most of the clashers focus on gold mines rather than elixir collectors and this is the reason why elixir is hard to earn now ( as you have already pointed out ).
On possible solutions adding gem rewards to level up mines and collectors can help in a long run. Also inactive bases are best to farm elixir, using cheap army like BARCH or BAM helps a lot while saving elixir.

Your choice to boost anything or not, gems = time
Your Total gold grab of 6 months has little to nothing to do with the loot problem of last update 7 days ago.
you also can't make sure you get as much gold as elixir. NEXT is NEXT. What's in the economy is what you get, unless...3rd party
Lol after lol after lol...just stop
I'm sure the elixir was better before the update too. Don't need to explain where it went.
The only major change was elixir into walls, so how does that gold double in profit now over before the update elixir lol
I'l tell you this before/after latest update,
1. The gold loot hasn't changed,
2. Elixir dropped about 50% amount per raid, the only bad part.
3. Dark elixir loot hasn't changed.
So your getting less loot, raiding with the weaker troops because of "low elixir turnaround + nexting" is what everyone has been ranting about....
Hence elixir into walls.
Supercell has listened and after this 1 gem boost update it should recover a bit. Why? Because everyone will try new things and wanted to try elixir into walls but now they are trying to recover from elixir they spent and would not try every elixir drop on walls again most likely.
Agreed. In the beginning of a town hall it was all about elixir then it shifts to gold for the end game of the town hall. Problem is the end game is always longer due to prices being expensive and long build times making end game elixir almost useless. Hence people disregarded collectors due to never being short on it except in very early stages. Especially when upgrades used all of the storage capacity worth of elixir. That is a poor design choice imo but that topic is for another thread lol
Another point to add, if the demand of elixir goes up doesn't that mean the demand of gold will decrease and thus increasing the supply of gold in the long run?
