Hard to help since you don't give any info regarding town hall level league your in or any other info. My Th10 has been in gold 1 but it's started to dry up at the moment. My Th9 is in crystal3 and does pretty well around 150k to 250k gold per raid ranges. So loot is out there you just have to search.
Th 9 not maxed 305 GG. Barb King 15 AQ 14 150/250 Legos will finish before th 10
Th 10 defenses maxed now just hero's and walls. 340 GG. Barb King 30 Archer Queen 30
Upgrading walls on Th 10 Legos 55/250 should be done eventually.

I find it interesting how SC stated that the update would make most players happy by allowing players to use lix for walls.
Judging by the pages in this thread, it doesn't quite seem that most players are happy. Well, maybe except low level players.
A lot of players in my clan, all th10, are having a tough time saving up lix especially the looners.
As soon as I have 4 mil lix saved it goes directly into a wall.
The Town Hall always has the capacity to store 1,000 each of gold and elixir, which means that when you start the game you will not need a Gold or Elixir Storage to start constructing buildings.

The disadvantages of an undefended Town Hall are that Trophies can be lost and that 1,000 of both gold and elixir will be lost per attack, although for higher level players this isn't very much at all. As players progress, both of these downsides will tend to fade away as it becomes easier to get both Trophies and Resources,however, in the early stages of the game, these downsides can seem daunting.Another disadvantage of an undefended Town Hall is that the player will lose against most attacks. It is a problem for completing the "Unbreakable" achievement, which also gives the player a significant number of Gems (155 for all three levels).
SOLUTION:
Increase the amount of gold and elixir stored when destroying the Town Hall.
Amount of available loot will be the same but for trophy pushers and Town Hall snipes, they can make 9,000 gold/elixir off destroying the Town Hall 10.
A way to slightly balance some of these farmers techniques. This will also increase maximum gold and elixir storage to 8,009,000.
Town Hall 10 - 9,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 9 - 8,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 8 - 7,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 7 - 6,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 6 - 5,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 5 - 4,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 4 - 3,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 3 - 2,000 gold/elixir
Town Hall 2 - 1,000 gold/elixir (same)
