    There's a flaw in your reasoning: In order to get that gold for the upgrades you need to spend elixir (and DE) on armies and spells. (That is, unless you don't raid and all your gold comes from your collectors.)
    If you want to keep that logic You need to estimate how much elixir you have to spend to get those 2.9 billion gold.

    Elixir is the blood in raiding. Restricting its use for troops and troop upgrades kept the balance.

    How we spend our resources is not the problem. How we get the loot is.

    I like elixir for walls - why wouldnt i, all i can do now is upgrade walls and heroes...

    But loot income is a problem. SC need to alter the economy because the one we have today does not work for TH10 players outside of those prepared to gem to play in high champion leagues Other THs suffer as well but no quite as acutely.

    Alter could mean introducing loot multipliers, enhancing bonuses, introducing war improvements (like territories, the more you have the greater your clans passive income, etc), bringing us quests that provide resource incentives, etc...changing the % of loot we steal is obviously not going to help when people are able to log off offering very low amounts...100% of nothing is still nothing!

    I am just about to hit TH9 with a maxxed out TH8. It's been a long and dedicated road of farming to achieve that.

    There's no way I'll continue to play the game if the loot and "farming" situation stays the same and I have to do it all again for TH9. I don't expect TH9 to be quick, but I also dread how ridiculously long it will take to Max out given the current loot situation.

    I have "adapted" my strategies. My farming army was low cost and fast build already. I can do collector or storage raids with it. Loot still sucks more than it should. I like to farm and build up my base... so when farming is not as much fun as it was before, then I'm out, Supercell.

    I am in the same boat as you. I bought 3 lava walls with elixir since the update. All good ideas you have, just SC is not listening

    I also have a fresh th7, which just get gold/elixir from collectors. It is *really* easy to log off we having almost nothing available to steal. I can understand the fustration from th8s! Upgrades are cheap, easily session raid the gold you need for an upgrade and dump everything else into walls.

    This please. SC is vary of adding new loot to the system and for a reason but let's face it, IT IS NOT WORKING GOD DAMNIT!

    Which is why I said that the effect is that it severely limits what is considered a cost-effective army and is the reason the "adapt or quit" crowd is saying to farm off league bonuses.

    This is something about Boom Beach that adds variety and fun to the game in my opinion. Having to attack resource bases with strong, expensive armies doesn't give much of a payoff immediately. But maintaining control over those resources is what pays off over time. And the diversity of the types of defenses in different resource bases encourages using different troop compositions for different attacks, keeping things interesting.

    Simply NO LOOT NO LOOT.. 60-80k vills most times.. Lots of shieldless pumps presenting 60-80 g/e, 200/200 unfeasible vills occassionally, then 120/30 or 40/120, take ur pick lol..

    What's the point of playing, am trying to figure out..
