Coathanger, my very first post in this forum was to say "thank you for the last upgrade", I was happy for the new lava hound.

....after few days I realized what was the dark side of the upgrade and start to complain.

My first post is still in the "UPDATE 16/09 - Post your feedback" (I was not able to search in that post, it's too huge)

Coathanger loves to troll the forums with delusional statements that he pulls out of thin air. He's been exposed as a troll for quite a long time now.

Since there are always new forums members who might not be aware of him, I'm happy to point out his baseless and obviously fictional statements.

Also I would like to add my own little sentiment. Whenever either myself, Coathanger or someone else does actually step up and say what they think ( in this case that they think the loot is fine ), we have been called every name under the sun..

So why the HELL would anyone else, eh?

    No more fun,,,,,,

I've reached a point where it's more profitable (for my resources) to sit back, do no raids and let my collectors do all the work. How much fun is that?

Been wondering lately if the lack of action is supercells passive aggressive way of forcing people to upgrade existing collectors......my mind tends to wander while nexting.

The people attacking, mocking and ridiculing others with an alternative view point is what is stifling the conversation and not contributing. I mostly agree with the rest though.
Does SC remove every inactive village? Read this thread.

Uh, some random guy posting his opinion on a Reddit thread is proof?

Btw, millions of people rate lots of apps in the app store. There are plenty of good reviews and plenty of bad reviews. That clearly disproves Coathanger's statement that people do not speak up when satisfied.

Whenever someone posts a loot complaint, they often get trolled by Coathanger. That discourages people from posting too.

I think people like Coathanger need to consider the deviation from the norm.

From an engineering prospective, we should recognize that we cannot exactly model the system, (because we simply cannot account for every variable, but it is far simpler and equally as useful to consider the current state in terms of the adjustment that has taken place.

I have to believe that this is how super cell will approach the problem, but it is going to take time. The loot economy must first return to steady state and there will surely be wild fluctuations until things settle down. Hopefully we're getting close to this point in time.

While we are not privy to the data that SuperCell will analyze, we can loosely apply this argument to the state of the forum.

Coathangers argument is that dissatisfied customers are more vocal than those who are satisfied with the product. While this is most certainly true, it only holds merit if there has been no deviation from the norm, and this is obviously not the case. The fact that this thread, (which did not exist weeks ago), boasts nearly 3,000 posts, proves some deviation from the norm. i.e. there are more dissatisfied customers than there were before the change took place.

Coathanger, please stop crowding this thread. You have spoken your opinion, and at this point you only stifle further exploration of the subject.

Forums are where people go to complain, so naturally, it's full of people complaining. They aren't a representative sample of the population of gamers.

Additionally, it's the same reason that the comments sections of most popular Internet sites are the way they are: We live in an age where you can type out the first thing that comes to mind and immediately broadcast it.
Another factor to keep in mind is that positive opinions are pretty hard to gather into communicable thoughts, but negative ones are visceral and easy to express. Grab the best game you've played in the past month and think of all the things you liked about it. Now think of what you wish it had done, what it did wrong, and what it almost did right... Not only will you get a much larger list of negative thoughts, it'll be easier to expand on why you feel the way you do about the negative feelings.
People don't typically hop online to express how happy they were with a game. They're too busy enjoying it.

There's also the natural negative bias of your brain. In the wild, it's more important for you to remember that berry nearly killed you, than the berry that tasted delicious. Therefore the brain has been adjusted to much more easily remember bad things. It's much more easy for your brain to remember that X game was horrible instead of the other game that was good. Even if you just took it from the overall feeling instead of what the details were.

First paragraph from linked Wikipedia article about Negativity bias :

Negativity bias is the name for a psychological phenomenon by which humans pay more attention to and give more weight to negative rather than positive experiences or other kinds of information. This shows up in a number of domains, including:

How did lava hounds screw over long term players? Those are for long term players, like level 7 barch. Look at the updates from this year they improve higher level long term game play, yes they peeved some but they update were largely for those players.

Heroes, walls were about higher level players. Heroes were stupid at high levels. The loot complaints were largely originating from people stuck on their high level walls. The personal break can be argued as originating due to the mod, there is little they can do there.

It's all good, ever consider I am not arguing with you but for those reading? Please do not take it personally, I do not.

Yes their marketing team is geared on getting more players in. I do not think their development team follows the same direction though, look at where the updates are largely targeted.

My argument was not that SC did not care for nor derive their profits from new players. My argument was against "...All they care about is more people starting the game.." And "...SC's main concern is pleasing the majority stakeholders."? The later being that they have a golden goose and need only to nurture it in order for continued success.

P.S. Did you find loot? Have you raided much this week? Inquiring minds want to know.

P.S. I was not mocking you in your previous thread. Those were actual ideas I have shared in the past on the forums.

First off people, generally, do not speak up when satisfied so you need to measure the satisfied by other means. There are far more people enjoying the game than complaining about it, that's why you are having to search more. You are having a harder time finding loot due to huge numbers of players who are out there raiding, upgrading and enjoying the game. More players=less loot for each of us, their pleasure is your bane.

Don't start none and there won't be none.

He pretends to give my thread 5 stars & then runs to the mod to complain.. haha.. do it again COAT... but that all & this all is not gonna make you a mod for sure... in fact its making us regulars really tired of the rattling...

no go ahead & report this too... we are non - bais players with no ulterior motive besides loving the game & trying to improve it unlike you.. & yes we have no problems with a ban too...
