    Loot is to low!

Since the new updates relating to elixir wall upgrades loot has run bone dry. Sometimes i come across 100-150k of elixir and gold in Gold lll but other than that i cant get enough for upgrades! Im a TH8 so upgrades start getting costly and i cant keep up because the storages are empty and so are collectors. I never thought being too active would become a problem. Fix the loot issues.

It's not from the update. It's because the town hall levelixir was always in less supply but also much less demand. Now the lower level of collectors vs mines is rearing it's ugly head. It's value in comparison to gold is now equal but supply from collectors ( i.e. 90% of the supply ) is still lagging behind gold. The update exposed the issue though. I have yet to spend elixir on walls. Because I need it for upgrades. I will use it for walls once it becomes useless to me near the end of the town hall level because at that point it became meaningless. I'd rather a resource never become useless like that.

Loot has changed. Here are the differences I see in the gold 1 - crystal 2 leagues that I prefer to farm in:

There are far fewer bases with 400k + (total) easily accessible loot.
There are far less sub-max TH 9- bases with 600k + (total) hard earned loot.
There are far less bases with 300K+ elixir.
It is extremely difficult to run base crushing armies as recouping the elixir is impractical.
Less people are donating massive troops, i.e. Dragon & Peeka.
I'm barching ghost towns more often than I was before.
I'm barching ghost towns with 200k total resources, instead of nexting until the 400k minimum I used to search for.
My base is getting crushed at lower resource thresholds and it is more inefficient than ever to store both primary resources.

Basically, I'm clicking next more than ever and then settling for less. My storages are not filling up as quickly as they used to, and those who attack me are settling for less as well. It is one of those rare occasions where 2 of 4 builders are sleeping, my laboratory is about to finish, and my storages appear empty. It simply isn't as fun to play clash of clans as it was a few weeks ago. Loot has decreased by at least 25% and this has decreased profits by 50%. No one wants to spend twice as much time earning results equivalent to previous months.

I believe the "Elixir into Walls" update is to blame for this effect.

Elixir was once a free resource that encouraged you to build different armies and attack with different strategies. It's upgrade potential was somewhat limited, and this drove diversity onto the battlefield. There is only one laboratory, and builders are often busy with gold sourced structures.

Now, elixir is simply another victim of the black hole that is nearly infinitely upgradable walls.

It seems only logical that a decreased availability of loot would be the result of such a drastic change. It has permanently upset the loot balance that is essentially responsible for the success of this game. I.e. it has changed the behavior of clashers and thus exasperated the problem.

I'm doing my part. I have pledged to have at least one million of each in my storages. Unfortunately people are so desperate I get slammed by superior troops because of it. I constantly offer about 300 k each of resources. I don't care as long as I can raid it back. The problem is that I can't. Thankfully I have some cheaper upgrades now. Makes it easier. Riding shields is allowing me to mostly get back what I lose by riding my maxed collectors and mines but not totally. I get hit almost immediately after I log off in gold three. There's no way I'm slaughtering my battery to prevent thks to hedge my bets. If more people were using this tactic there would be no loot problem. But it's a natural reaction sadly to low loot.

In the past I could do three raids and regardless of whether I got attacked I was ahead. Now it's more like six or more. Trying to cook troops through that many raids without getting attacked is nigh on impossible.

We really have to evaluate the structure of the game if it's forcing us to remain online just to not lose in the long run.

Also I'm of the firm belief that no one without maxed collectors and mines has the right to complain. Add to the available loot that frustrates you due to scarcity. If people weren't so incredibly selfish with the reasoning that "I can loot more than they collect" then automatically there would be more loot in the system. Residual income as well as your raiding adds more to the system period. I hate finding an abandoned base with low collectors full. I think about what the total available loot COULD have been. Do your part in the system if you want to see what it is capable of.

Also since elixir was previously not regarded with much value elixir collectors were almost always below gold mines in upgrade level. Now I see more collectors being upgraded than ever before. This level disparity is the major cause of the shortage in elixir. If you don't believe wait until you see your next abandoned base. Look at the available loot. Look at the levels of the mines and collectors. Gold is almost always more and the mines are always upgraded further.

Either way the loot is not good. At best it's been ok. But there's seriously an issue with it. I don't play games to work hard for resources. There has to he a balance of effort and reward or it becomes a futile exercise and disparages people from playing. If people don't feel rewarded for their efforts the game will die. No question about it. I spent $20 just to reward the developers for the time I've spent on the game. But they won't see more if it continues to be a grind fest. There's a delicate balance between reward and effort. It's not currently being met. That much is certain for the majority of players. Anyonewho doubts this need look no further than the fact that this thread is exists.

The population of the forums are the most intense and hardcore players. If they grow sick of the conditions what will casuals think? Exactly. Shorter retention times for players causing a shorter life span of the game. This will all amount to less players spending money in the long run.

Ok at least one person agrees with me

Loot is definitely way too low at this time. I'm honestly putting most of the blame on fluffy bunnies. The golden hour after being forced off for maintenance seems to me to be a coincidence that I can't look over. Then as the bunnies fire back up it goes back to being garbage.

I agree, but I'd rather put my gold and elixir into my walls, rather than let everyone else take it from me. My defense and lab upgrades are on hold, but at least I'm making progress with my walls.

When times are tough, people hoard - it's just human nature. There's going to have to be an extended flood of resources available to get the CoC economy going again. I don't think 1 gem per day boosts are going to cut it.

In my opinion it is BECAUSE OF the 'lix for walls' change. Before this we never even looked at lix....there was always surplus..... Now it is dumped in walls by the lower THs so the higher THs are running dry.

"Barch" some say....but what little loot there is is in storages and the inactives are scarce.

Right on! I have NEVER complained on this forum about loot until this update..... And I have over a billion GG so I know about looting!

I must disagree....it IS from the update. Lix for walls from level 6 was the most ill thought out change SC EVER made. Level 7 walls cost only 200,000 so a player with very little surplus can dump into walls EVERY DAY leaving little lix to raid. If lix for walls applied to level 8 walls then AT least a million would have to be surplus before using for walls.

We cant keep raiding bases with low lix even if gold is OK....this is so blatantly obvious that I remain INCREDULOUS that supercell made this change.

Clash of Clans is an amazing product but whatever person, or people, agreed this particular change are morons.
