I still remember well when I only had 25 or 50 slots in my barn and I was spawning all those saws, land deeds, mallets etc that were taking up space in my barn and I was desperate for cash when I was trying to buy some machine. I couldn't get rid of that stuff fast enough and I had no idea about trading.... heeheehee.

My boat sailed away yesterday with nothing on it because I needed 18 bottles of carrot juice which is a rare item to find anyway. No one was selling from my friends list and I sat and refreshed the paper for several hours hoping to find that gem paper with all the good stuff. In the span of several hours I didn't see one carrot juice. The paper has become useless now. I am one of those players that wants to play the game as intended. If it continues and more people start doing it there will be no point in selling to advertising anything and social aspect of this game will be all but gone.

i'd really like to hear how people from Supercell feel about this.
I am sorry that you can't fill your boats, may I just point out the following:

    * If you have a particularly difficult boat, you can send it away before filling a single crate, I sent away 3 yesterday.
    * The DD Newspaper is a pain with all the eggs, B&E pages but you have to persevere. I spent about 7 hours total yesterday searching for expansion items, yes, they are few & far between, but they do come up. I also found sugar, syrups and juices for sale, although admittedly every 1/12 pages.
    * Also, people don't always advertise a Plank, as that will be grabbed and nothing else sold, so people tend to advertise what they want sold, the plank is then found as a bonus.
    * I regularly fill my shop with cakes, juices, ice creams etc - they sell fast. I don't sell eggs, eggs and more eggs.

And finally '..play the game as intended'.. which is exactly what? The game intended people to have Friends to visit their shops, buy & sell and help boats. That's what Friends are for! And the Forum is how we communicate in a social game.

If you have issues about lack of expansion and rare items, bring that up with SC, please don't knock people for helping out others.

I have no problem with people trading if that's what they want to do. I wish I knew how sometimes too but that's not a high priority for me.

I also have no problem finding expansion items or mallets or deeds etc. I usually get my deeds from waking my dogs. I get mallets from harvesting almost ALL the time!! I find tons of expansion items in the newspaper. The previous poster is right, they ARE there, you just have to look.

One day, I scoured the pages of the DD and found 15 expansion items!!!! That was a banner day!!! I never understand the people who say they can never find stuff in the DD...I find 90% of my items in there...guess I'm just lucky?

Finally, I sell tons of expansion items when I don't need them. I don't advertise though, so one who just happens to click on my stall gets a small surprise there. Ask my neighbours, I sell a LOT of tools. I just hoard axes and saws LOL!

I find great stuff in the DD also, it's fun to feel the "thrill" when you score something good. Especially when b&eggs are advertised!

    😄

YEP!! I love finding those awesome surprises. My son always knows when I find something like when I click on B&E and find an awesome deal for 5 mallets or deeds or whatever, because I always yell "OH YEAH' or "SCORE!!!" Lol..he always says "MOM FOUND A GOOD DEAL AGAIN!" LOL...

Oh and my favourite? When you are looking and someone puts tools or expansion items there while you are browsing in the stall..that's always an awesome score.

Haha JustTrace, me too. And to the original poster, I just 'scored' 17 Duct Tape and a Bonus Plank 20 seconds ago in the DD, no furtive 'insider, under the table' trading whatsoever. Did that already on the Legitimate Trading Thread. Now that was a definite Banner/ Jump for joy moment from the DD. (If you want to spit Nails, please aim them at my Silo, thanks).

Edit. For those who don't know the expression, 'spit nails' here is an definition.
An old English Expression, originally from the Carpentry trade. They carried nails in their mouths to use easily. If you were "so mad/jealous that you could spit nails", it would mean as you couldn't talk when you had a mouth full of nails, you would have to spit them out to yell at someone.

i was frustrated too especially whe I had no neighbors and hardly any plots - I had to rely on the newspaper. I finally went to Facebook and got more neighbors. Low level neighbors are the best!!! they need products higher lvl people make and often sell expansion items that their barns can't store. Also I started growing crops like crazy. I don't understand why more people don't do this and lay off the eggs and B&E. corn grows super fast, always sells in an instant in my shop (at full price) and it spawns Expansion items very frequently. I think the trading is a minor impact and if you don't want to, there are ways around it. Also why not try trading? If you can't beat 'em then join 'em. The only wrong way to play this game is to not be having fun!!!!

I find stuff in the newspaper all the time. Usually if I have time, I'll go to every single shop in the newspaper and search their stores. Some people just don't advertise stuff like that.

I know when I put expansion items up for sale, I don't advertise it, giving all my farm neighbors first dibs. If it's in their for several hours, however, I will advertise it.
