Put An End to Inside Trading in Hay Day!

Not sure about the thing with the Newspaper, it did seem to refresh very frequently for a day or two a couple of days ago, which was really nice, because for that day I almost never had the "all eggs" papers, but always could find something interesting on the first day. But since two days ago, things have changed back so that it is now only one in ten papers or so that hold something interesting. It might just have been a random spree of luck, but things did seem notably better that day, so if they were indeed testing some new settings, I'd strongly recommend going back to that.

I certainly hope you are not suggesting that trading with friends will be stopped when the newspaper is improved??? That would be a rediculous move. It happens all the time on real farms and is as important as trading with others.

And how would they stop it? That would be impossible, unless they removed the nbr option altogether so you can't follow anyone's farm. The game is designed so that sometimes it's impossible to fill a boat order. This encourages you to spend diamonds.
Also regarding the " why bother filling boat orders, it's not economical" comment: the answer is to gain xp and pet vouchers.
I have little interest in earning money anymore, as I have all the buildings ( except two smelters) and a lot of money I don't know how t spend. Until the next update my only interest in the game is earning xp to level up and pet vouchers.
Trading with forum members has added a new interesting side to the game for me, and has introduced me to many new nbrs!

why do you buy products to sell them to the boat? it is not economic.

try to prodcuce 3-5 of every product and hold this amount in your barn - then your chance will rise to fill a boat order

but i see also that the bulding material offers appear now less

Also, having three of each item doesn't always help at higher levels.
I am just finishing a boat order that included 16 syrup! At an hr and a half to make each one, minus, say, four you may have had in storage, it would take 20 hrs to get that many! Impossible without purchasing more.

Not quite sure if you realize this or not but, it is not a real farm. If the intention was to have trading it would be an open market. I really have no need to trade just trying to see from everyone's perspective. Also seems like a bunch of beggars trying to get around playing the game as intended.

I really don't like it when people try to dictate how a game should be played. It's a game. We play it for fun. As soon as it stops being fun and people begin imposing 'rules' on everyone else it looses it's point.
Everyone should play however they want to.

Agreed. I also have a life. I would never stay up all nite for that. I do it the smart way, or just let the boat go.

Same here. For the achievement for boat orders, I just bought Tom for those orders and then stopped. Boat orders are impossible to finish most of the times because they ask for a lot of cakes and ice cream which takes hours to make. A lot other stuff they ask for are necessary ingredients for other products. I just put whatever I can like bacon or popcorn. If I can't finish it, I'll just ignore it and wait for another ship.

Also, it's not economic to do boat orders, but you certainly do get a lot more stars compared to the measly 5 stars you get from selling to NPC customers or to zero stars when you sell on your roadside ship :eek:

i actually both troll friends shops and newspaper and I also trade. I always put a good selection of harder to find items in my shop because I know how hard it is to find some things. My problem is that I rarely get the building items that I need for expanding my barn from normal play. I always seem to get plenty of wood for the silo but almost never get planks for the barn. It makes play as you get to upper levels almost impossible and since they are rarely found in shops, my only alternative is to trade or post a need in a forum. I don't believe that it takes the fun out of my play in fact I think it makes it more fun. How you want to play the game is up to the individual and if trading helps some then I'm ok with that. Just like some choose to advance without buying diamonds while other purchase them so they can advance things faster

If your that desperate for items you'd try your best to gain them any which way needed..

So what if people trade with each other to help one another ...

I don't trade as in swap but I'll happily supply friends with items of need.

Also, and I think this was mentioned in another comment... Save stuff up do u have at least 5 item of each ... Your one step ahead then

I am not necessarily complaining about others trading habits, I don't care what others do, what I do care about is that I cannot make certain achievements like consecutive boat orders if I don't spend money. No amount of time and patience will gain me this, because items I need are in high demand and no where to be found, and impossible to make within the timeframe given without spending diamonds on speed ups = $ out of pocket, real money and I'm not willing to spend. We should be able to buy diamonds with in game coins and/or get more realistic boat orders. All I can say at this point is I hope the update will fix this.


And by the way, while the update is cute and fun, some of my unused land was taken away and trees were added where i had already cut! And it's really super slow now. I like the added items and fun seasonal graphics, but I think the extras added too much and are bogging my game play down.
