Tired of threads getting merged

As the title says, I'm tired of threads getting merged. i understand why most loot threads get merged into "the one and only loot thread", but some others that propose actual solutions, or are compiling data, should not just get merged and therefore buried under all the other threads. They should be left as their own so these helpful things can actually be seen.

why would supercell actually use your solution, if they wanted loot be be better they would have already done it by not hiding inactives.

most of the loot threads we merge are as a result of complaints from forumers who are sick of all the "have you noticed loot is bad" spam.

I take your point that some of them are actually intelligent discussions and quite often we let those run until the complaints pile up - the loot stats one from yesterday was a good example.

Cool never been responded to by a mod before But on topic: that does seem reasonable, and if I knew that I wouldn't have made the thread. Thanks for the info. Just sucks to see good threads get lost into oblivion.

They don't like the subject. Start a new thread about gowipe and you wont get merged. Get over it, they are above you in hierarcy on this forum. Find a new subject to talk about.

I also dislike the constant complaining about loot but what I dislike even more is the practice of arbitrary merging posts into an incomprehensible single loot thread which combines at this point hundreds of separate ideas - especially when you click on the merged thread and you do not get to the actual post but to the first page of this incredibly long thread. The effect has been to effectively stymie any intelligent discussion of loot. I find it truly incomprehensible that on the one hand you admit that the loot stats conversation of yesterday was an intelligent discussion and then justify burying it because of 'complaints.'

I must take exception to the statement by many moderators that the merging/moving of threads is not censorship. As any student of history and law knows, censorship is not merely the complete supression of ideas. Rather, censorship can also involve controlling the manner and timing of speech. While Supercell controls this site and has the absolute right to decide where and when matters may be posted, it also needs to admit that it is censoring the posts of forum members.

The whole loot matter could be resolved in two separate ways that can both be independently implemented:

1. The easiest is to create a separate loot subforum, sticky Marika's superb initial discussion of the new loot system and let folks post away.

2. Have Supercell staff respond to the loot discussion. I am sure Supercell monitors available loot. It is a smart company and knows what level of loot will keep people interested enough in buying gems to accelerate their progress and keep those who only wish to play for free happy. They are very capable of responding to loot concerns by telling people what they know, for example it could say a) there is no change in loot since the upate or b) loot has declined since the update but we expect it to rise back up as players adjust to the update or c) we are experimenting with the queque to make more loot is available but not excessive or d) loot is down and we have no intention of making any changes or e) believe it or not loot is actually up. The company's silence fuels the loot debate and makes the site less pleasurable for both those who love loot discussions and those who hate them.
