Did you try Hounds with Minions? --- 3 or 4 hounds, rest minions, and rage spells.... Excellent troop combo, but a bit expensive on DE......

Lava hound is the same with Golem (take high slots, less damage), more than 2 Lava/Golem is no need. 90 - 120 slots with no damage is useless , save these 30-60 slots for high DPS troops such as: loon, minis, drags will better
