If our heroes are available to defend war villages while upgrading during clan wars, it would seem we should be able to use them to attack as well. I understand not our normal villages but just our "War TH's". All buildings and heroes are available during war so should our heroes during attacks. Also along that lines our spells factories for war during upgrading should be available.

Defenses are available during war if upgrading.
Offenses are not available during war when upgrading. Barracks, spell factory and heroes are all not available when upgrading.
As it is now I can join one war and pass two if I want both heroes.

I thought the only reason defenses were available was to prevent that endless grind from becoming a deterrent to participating in war. After all, it's better for everyone if more clans go to war. Without a hero and spells, it becomes impossible to win; they are absolutely necessary. There's no way I will waste elixir in a CW I know I can't win.
There's also the fact that the clan war is a different facet of your original base. Doesn't break your shield, you don't lost resources ect ect.
