Its a great idea. If implemented it would save tons of time of both the sides. Hope SC reads this thread.
Dragster there is nothing called less time ; everyone is having that 24 hours battle day as usual which is also mostly waisted but covers the time Zone issue perfectly .
Why to cover the time issue twice ?
Plus even with the 24 hours preparation you have no control when the war is going to start so same issue here ( as u say if ur leader started a war at a different time , after 24 hours which would be also at the same time the war will start !!
Well at least when u press ready you know that its gonna be soon And no need to memorize always when that 25 hours will end ).
I hope you think it deep and get the idea , their is no difference at all since no one controls war time but the one who started it .
I would never hit that button. It leaves the start time open to be whenever the other side hits theirs. And I would not want the task of sitting there having to keep an eye out for that. I would prefer the guaranteed start time 24 hours out.
During the 24 hours there are many ways to pass the time...
- Farm raid
- Go play Xbox
- Go play basketball
- Take a nice walk in the fresh air
- mow the lawn
- date a girl
- sleep
- work
- study
- work out
- find a cure for cancer
- enlist
- help your mom
- prepare for the end of civilization
- hang out on the Supercell forums

You are still stuck with, once you yourself have hit it, the task of keeping an eye out in case the war starts early. But the 24 hours you know when that will be so you can know when to come back if you wanted to try spending any of your life on something other than video games.
In my clan we start war at a certain time twice a week so it ends at a certain time twice a week. 24 hours isnt even that long and if this was added it means shorter wars meaning you can fit more wars in meaning more loot so people wont have to gem so often resulting in supercell not making as much money from gems.

There's always one person in every war that is busy or didn't realize the war started until well into battle day.
Patients. I like that there's a schedule. You know when battle day is going to start. Which also means you know when battle day is going to end.
As others mentioned. If I'm a member and I see "Oh a war started, cool" but say I'm busy for the next 26 hours. Someone hit "READY" within the first hour, and so the war is done within 25 hours of when I first noticed the war start. Your clan just lost 2 raids because I couldn't anticipate when war day starts or ends.
There is nothing unfair about it. You still have 24 hours for War day. Just because it "might" cause an inconvenience for YOUR schedule does not make it unfair. Like others stated, if both teams are ready, then there is no point in having to wait several hours for prep day to end.
