Make a zoom bar; get rid of two-finger-swipe zoom

    Imagine this:
You're attacking someone and need to drop a rage spell for these giants walling on a bunch of clustered def turrets. Then you realize you need to zoom out. And BAM, you just dropped a spell while trying to zoom out. And you just lost the attack because you ran out of spells.

I insist on a zoom bar option that disables the two-finger-swipe zoom to accommodate players that have lousy touch screens. And the zoom bar should be on the side of the battle screen and will prevent the above problem.

The touch screen interface has always been annoying like this. Sometimes I try to do the V deployment using two fingers (technically two thumbs, since I'm on a phone), and it just zooms in. Sometimes I try to do the tap and then swipe to drop a line of troops, and the screen just pans around. It's most annoying when I lay down a line of barbs as a meat shield, and then try to deploy a thick line of archers behind then. I can't get the archers to drop for the life of me, end up panning over and over, keep trying, finally give up since all my barbs are dead anyway, and start over. Or if I still have barbs left, I give up with the swipe deployment and just start tap tap tapping like mad.

And of course, I've had the opposite problem, which you described. Trying to zoom in or out, and end up dropping whatever I have deployed. I've learned not to have a spell selected when I zoom. And I've also learned to zoom with both fingers on buildings, so that I end up getting the message about not being able to deploy my troops. Heck, I used to run into this a lot when matchmaking, accidentally starting battles by dropping a barb when I just wanted to zoom in or zoom out or pan around the screen. Not so bad when you're raiding for loot, but can set you back 2 hours when you're trophy pushing.

No suggestions from me, other than agreeing that it'd be nice to have zoom buttons or a zoom slider.

...though I don't know where it would go. The screen is already packed with so many things. The troops at the bottom block the bottom of the map, but you sort of can't raid without them, so I get it. The resources on the left and right are useful as well. Though I don't really care how many gems I have during a battle, since I can't spend or gain any during the battle.

So yeah, where would we put these buttons or slider? Not sure, but don't want to make the interface even more cluttered...

    Thumbs Up

For deploying a line of troops, you have to press for a second at one spot before swiping across. I totally agree with the zoom bar. I always have to zoom on top of the base where I can't deploy troops. Then a message comes up saying I can't deploy troops, otherwise, I would have accidentally deployed troops.

lol, like I don't know that! The point is, sometimes when you press for a second, the touchscreen thinks your finger is moving, even though it's in one spot, so it doesn't register as a "press and hold", it registers as a "press and pan". I think it's more of an issue with my Samsung Galaxy S4 because it has one of those "psychic" touchscreens that registers a touch when your finger is still 1-2 millimeters above the screen. This means that the speed at which you bring your finger down when you tap the screen, and the direction it comes from, can both influence whether it gets registered as a tap and hold or a tap and pan.

Not a clash of clans issue, or at least I don't think it is. It's a touchscreen problem. But since Clash of Clans is played on touchscreens, they kind of go hand in hand.
