Basically this is an idea that select troops would have optional, and changeable skin layovers that would appear in army camps and when in battle. Some examples would be , Atlantean troops, Celtic troops, medieval troops, and additionally iced based troops, fire based troops, and of course the default skins which we all start with. Skins would be purchased with gems but would not affect troop stats just their looks and animation.
Skins would be a form of army customization, purchased with gems via the store in-game. Once purchased, the skin may be activated to change the way your basic troops look. (Dark troops would not change.) Skins would never have to be re-purchased, but more than one skin may be owned. Only one skin may be active at a time.
