I suggest that there should be a choice for punishment. They're could be a warning, with no punishment, for the first time, and then if the player keeps on violating the rules, co-leader and leaders could send a warning along with a punishment.
I think a small punishment is necessary, to keep them in line. Either they can't donate, or they can't participate in wars.

    Detailed more

Firstly I would like to congratulate you on a great idea and would like to see it implemented in Clash of Clans.

I agree with many comments saying the punishment is too harsh, which is slightly true, especially if it is something simple like swearing, yes annoying, but still simple.

I have been thinking about how you could change it and came up with this: A three strike system.
it still uses the same idea of sending a warning but is set on a 'counting' scheme.

A little example of what I think it should look like:

    Clan Warning 1
You have been warned by .......
    Reason: Town Hall sniping (eg)
Consequence: Unable to participate in the next .... War/s (Eg)
    Comment:

This should also be on a time management, where the leader (and only the leader) can eliminate strikes a player has received after seeing good behaviour.
An amount of warnings a co leader can give at a time should be restricted also, in case of abuse and other stuff like that.

i hope to see a reply from you and a trial of this by supercell.

    Not a good idea

People could easily use this to "select" some people they want in wars to participate in them. It's essentially rigging the wars to boost your wars won. Plus say if one of the cos want to leave the clan he/she could really screw up the clan by banning them from wars for, say 5 days
all in all, an unpredictable addition that would add WAY to much power to co/leaders

This game is kind of a monarchy, a ruler ruling over everyone. And, I can always disable not being able to be in wars.

This is a feature that should probably be available only to leaders/coleaders.

Similar to the private messaging idea, which a lot of people want, the reasons for not including make sense as there is potential for abuse. It does address a real issue though--that leaders do not necessarily want to kick a member out or publicly chastise them, but want to tell them they're doing something against clan rules, or that needs to be corrected.

The problem I see is are there standard messages? If so, what do you include? It seems like there would need to be a lot of options, including:

    Spamming
    Harassing another member
    Language
    Insufficient Donations
    Unacceptable donation ratio
    Trophy count too low
    Not showing for war
Donating something other than what is requested/standard troops

As someone else said, I think the warning should simply come with a reminder that repeated offenders will be removed from the clan. Leaders would also need to be able to see how many warnings each player has been given, and possibly the dates of those warnings.

Thumbs Up nice idea, but opens door for exploits

it's a nice idea, however with the added punishment feature it will open the door for people to use that as a way to exclude people from wars and/or mess with people for what ever reason and stop them from requesting troops.

having said that, if you remove the option of punishment, and just treat it as a slap on the hand with a counter i think that will itself be an amazing feature. make it work like points on your driving record, each time a leader/co-leader slaps your hand you get a point, x-number of days without getting a point (i.e. good behavior) the counter goes down by one, if you reach a defined number of points (can be configured in clan settings) you automatically get kicked out. having the points age off automatically will remove the responsibility of the leader/co-leaders to remember, manage or argue on who is being good. now have those points displayed on the clan listing, people will restrain them selves when they are close to the kick-out threshold.

Not allowing members to participate it CW
It's brilliant, I would love to see some sort of system in place like this, but I do believe not allowing them to donate, and participate in wars is easily exploited by leaders.
With any luck, when a player recieves a warning for no reason, they should really have the logic to see that the clan isn't really right for them, if the leader is trying to prevent them for participating in wars, so it kind of counters the argument about that bit being exploited.

    Not allowing members to donate
Not allowing them to donate could be exploited by leaders not letting the weaker/younger chiefs donate in their clans, which again can be countered easily.
Most younger players don't really want to donate, I have a second account, and I've been avoiding donations to others, as I want to make sure im stockpiling as much loot I possible can for upgrades and improvements on my base. So I guess it wouldn't be all that bad.
Again, if you do want to donate, and the leader doesn't let you, you should really understand that the clan isn't really right for you.

Other things I would like to see, that could be worth mentioning

    • Report Feature In Clan Chat
Unlike the normal report system, players report offending messages, which are then immediately deleted from the chat, the leader/co can then review the reported message and take the right action. If it's a false report, maybe issue a warning to the reporter, perhaps he was just trolling, so it'll teach it not to mess with leadership time.
And then give warnings to the offender, if it was a rude comment.
    • Personal Mails
Leaders and Co's can send personal mails to individual members.

    Not against...

Not against this idea, but I don't like the idea of a private message as this wouldn't have the effect I want. Perhaps if you are warned it adds a counter like when you quit a clan during a war, to warn everyone else that you are potentially a behavior problem. It should also be public, cuz I want the rest of my clanmates to know that the behavior wont be tollerated and I did something about it. Really I couldn't picture myself using it that often, since I prefer the broad side of my boot as a form of enforcing the rules. If the rules are always the same for everyone, it will be less likely for people to step out of line.
