My last 2 months as a th8 I used a variant of the Arcade T-CORE base and it worked quite successfully against giant based attacks.

If you stay around 1100 trophies, give and take 50, TH 9 attacks are not so frequent.

not really. I did have a good DE farming base at TH8 that defended occasionally against TH9s but my gold and elixir was easy pickings with GARCH

Tips for the th8s who hate getting raided nonstop

1st, raid in sessions. The max you can lose from storages is 300k (2000 dark), which is 270k from a th9 (1800 dark). As a th8, I broke shields every time I thought I had time from more than 2 raids. If you raid in sessions, making over a million gold per session, then losing 270k is not that bad. Add in a good base design and you will reduce that significantly.

2nd, max the third storage. I love hitting th8s with only two maxed gold storages. That means I get 150k each, rather than 100k each. And make sure to separate them out.

3rd, if you are hanging around at th8 just to do walls, why? As I posted in a thread yesterday, I recently had a guy in my clan who maxed defenses at th8 at the same time I did, but did not go to th9 until he maxed all walls and lab. During the same time, I have have maxed th9 defenses, pillaged th8s with extreme prejudice, built max troops, got my queen to 10 in one account and 14 in my other account, etc. Life is good as a th9.

There is no reason to stay at th8 if you have your splash maxed and level 5 troops. I regret that I stayed an extra month to max teslas......I love my teslas, but I could have used more cheap upgrades at th9. And my queen would be several levels higher.

You won't be able to completely stop TH9 as a TH8; the extra 20 spaces and L6 troops do make a lot of difference.

Try to respect your shield, keep clan castle filled with high damage troops and keep it centralized, be in a good clan for good troops and use a proven base design.
