Supercell don't want to be like Apple who announce update dates then fail to deliver, Supercell just fail to deliver

Anybody know of an update Supercell have released that hasn't had to have further updates to patch the glitches

I honestly believe that as soon as it is available, then they will push "the button".

The problem is that Apple is a very hard company to work with. I am sure that if SuperCell was realeasing this on their own in their own app store, then they would give a date.

Just thinking about it if they have 7k hp it will run the clock down for quite a bit if they dont have wizards

The truth is Supercell doesn't actually know or control when the update will be released.

Having been an apple app developer at one point I can tell you first hand the app release process with apple involves the following steps: 1) submit app to apple for approval. 2) wait. there will be no communication from apple to the app developer until whatever ridiculous and completely inconsistent approval shenanigans apple subjects the app to have been completed. Apple is insanely stubborn about this. They won't budge even for a multi billion dollar company like supercell. Heaven forbid apple actually rejects the app. the approval process starts over. And due to terms of service with apple, supercell would be forbidden to actually communicate the reasons for rejection. they'd be forced to simply tell us "soon".

So how's that for honesty? It's really what's happening at the moment.

The update might have been rejected and we might never know... SuperCell might be simply fixing what caused the rejection and resubmitting... Again we will never know for sure but it is a theory for the delay.

So How far do my responsibilities for planning go, because I wasn't aware that I should innately know not to take the developers at their word? Should I have anticipated that the HayDay update would be rolled out first and that it's update would go poorly? When the FB page inferred that the end of the 1 gem boosting would be in 24 hours should I have checked on the weather in Helsinki and the relationship status updates of the developers to make sure everything was looking good? Seriously, blaming the players for things completely out of the control of players is a little like "victim blaming" (a little).

Building anticipation is great, good for the game and invigorating. Disappointing the most avid players with poor communication and then throwing out cheap collector boosts to placate the masses is bad planning; but not on the part of the players.
This feels less like building buzz and more like bad game management.
The only reasons I can come up with for NOT informing us directly is either they have no idea of when it will be ready and they are too proud to admit it or they have no idea and they just don't care how the lack of communication is perceived.
While that is obviously hyperbole, SC does seem to have some issues with communication. Rather than a flying dog replay I would have appreciated some simple honesty. But of course this is just one man's opinion.

Your planning should include some common sense. If one update goes late then it is clear that it will become something that is going to happen in the future. Also, there is the timing. Apple just had a massive unveiling and a launch coming up which even with everyone who would tell you otherwise will create backlogs in all departments. You add that with the fact that Apple constantly changes their criteria for what gets approved by them and what doesn't you have a delay. Not to mention bugs will be found for forever and eternity because it is impossible to find all of them however if one pops up while it hasn't been released any game dev will tell you it is better to delay than to release and patch. The number of updates gives us the idea that this may be a problem. Always plan for the unexpected and the unforeseen. If you dont. Then its your fault.

Updates are more often than not on a Tuesday and often they have to wait for Apple etc to release it.
