Agreed with all you said. Not sure if the lava hound can be incorporated into a farming strategy (costs and training time), but they'll do great in cw. As for other attack strategies, I've been doing some barching in c1 but loot had been pretty bad. Gonna try to go up then down in cups. Thanks for the wizard tip, totally forgot about them! Not sure the lower price will last, however.
I am a maxed Def TH10 with 225 lavas and 25 zaps. My AQ is 30, and my BK is upgrading to 29 as I write this. From my POV, I can understand some of your concerns.
Regarding wall upgrading, yes it would have been nice to have been able to upgrade them with elixir, but even if SC takes some of the value of walls with this ( since more and more will have high level walls), they can never take away your GG. That will remain and show everyone just how dedicated of a player you are.
Looning will definetly be harder after the update, resource wise and offense wise. I have never farmed with loons much, since they take way to long to cook for me (yes even on boost). I prefered Giant based armies, always have for some reason. That being said, I can relate to the elixir cost of farming armies, since with spells my army can take alot of elixir to make, which I rarely get back in one raid.
So, with this update I too will be forced to maybe approach things differently. But that is basically what made me stay in this game this long, with no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Everytime I got the feeling that I'm finally figuring this game out, SC dropped a new update and new things. Keep in mind I've been playing since Sept 2012, so I've seen them all. First few times I was overwhelmed, angry, like most of the forumers I'm seeing today. Now, my mentality has changed somewhat. I like that they change things, it opens up so many new possibilites.
All that being said, I'm loving this new update. It brings many features that I have wanted for a while, as for the rest of it, we'll have to wait and see I guess.
Cheers, Rock.
Proudly maxed TH10 as of January 14th 2015
Why is the forum assuming a deadline suddenly an excuse to make them 'late'?
We arent their boss because no matter how much individuals spend money on the game, we have no right to demand anything, we can critique the game and make suggestions, but surely if we were the 'boss' we would be the ones deciding what they do (i appreciate that there is a ideas and future requests area but at the end of the day the word 'requests' is significant there) and if we were the 'boss' we could for example fire Steve (sorry Steve) and hire a replacement. We are not true bosses and while i understand your point about if we stop paying then they are out of a 'job' but im sure that supercell and the employees are clever enough to focus on a different game/start on a new project when less money is made from coc

IMO the economy can't get any worse so let's see how the update copes with the massive amount of players, I do think that a loot system that worked over a year now can't be expected to work nowadays
Yes, definitely at their mercy.
Maintenances can do a few things - change values in the existing database fields mostly. costs, time, gems, attack values, text errors, etc can be done with a maintenance, after the maintenance you will see a "Downloading Files" message - where we push updated database value files to the device. The maintenance is needed to take down the servers to change the values there before we push the client files.
We used maintenance to introduce extra walls, extra amount of defenses for a specific TH in the past (just changing a database value)
A maintenance can't introduce new content, change AI's, change maps, add new database fields, etc. That requires a full app download.

We are their customers, not their boss. Pretty obvious difference. Supercell is a company, not a democracy. If you don't like the way they handle their business, then leave.
