especially given the increased emphasis on elixir after this update. It's going to be extremely hard to protect them all.

Exactly. 3 rage, 2 lightning spells. 2 hounds. rest dragons. One AD falls to lightning. hounds soak up damage from two of remaining 3 AD and dragons rage through the rest of the base. The Hog nerf turned Clan Wars into Dragon wars and now it is only going to get worse.

I'm right now agreeing with you guys this is going to make Clan wars all but loon/Dragons wars..
what is the point of updateing walls /cannons and mortars?

It's going to be More of a race of Maxing the AD's W/A-towers Tesla s,' Air bombs, Bows and If's Soon as possible with upgrading dragons/minons/loons and Hounds now.. nothing else will matter..really

i can't see a troop attacking a specific defence. No other troop does this.

If a troop targets ad primarily, you could just spam these in and destroy the ad, then let them move on to destroy the rest of the base with ease.

So sadly i think you may be proved very wrong.

Chief pat used in second attack
20 balloons = 20*5= 100
1 dragon = 20*1=20
30 minions = 30*2=60
2 lava hounds ?*2=?
Army camps if 240
So 100+20+60+?=240
=180+?=240
? = 240-180=60
60/2 = 30
So it's like golem's housing space

Couldnt agree more. So I guess next steps should be new levels of collectors and storages. (it does look more likely to happen than reduced prices of researches and upgrades).

I still have severe doubts this new unit would target AD. Dragon Wars are already bad enough at times. Dragons don't need to be even more powerful.
