Seriously, blaming the players for things completely out of the control of players is a little like "victim blaming" (a little).

Building anticipation is great, good for the game and invigorating. Disappointing the most avid players with poor communication and then throwing out cheap collector boosts to placate the masses is bad planning; but not on the part of the players.
This feels less like building buzz and more like bad game management.
The only reasons I can come up with for NOT informing us directly is either they have no idea of when it will be ready and they are too proud to admit it or they have no idea and they just don't care how the lack of communication is perceived.
While that is obviously hyperbole, SC does seem to have some issues with communication. Rather than a flying dog replay I would have appreciated some simple honesty. But of course this is just one man's opinion.
The truth is Supercell doesn't actually know or control when the update will be released.

Having been an apple app developer at one point I can tell you first hand the app release process with apple involves the following steps: 1) submit app to apple for approval. 2) wait. there will be no communication from apple to the app developer until whatever ridiculous and completely inconsistent approval shenanigans apple subjects the app to have been completed. Apple is insanely stubborn about this. They won't budge even for a multi billion dollar company like supercell. Heaven forbid apple actually rejects the app. the approval process starts over. And due to terms of service with apple, supercell would be forbidden to actually communicate the reasons for rejection. they'd be forced to simply tell us "soon".

So how's that for honesty? It's really what's happening at the moment.

Second, The update do not depends only of supercell, it have to be synchronise with Apple's schedule. And even if it's the supercell's fault... Chill out! It will happen, god!
Not in my nature to relax, wish I could.
I have a clan of folks who are very active, excellent group of people. They are asking me quite often to provide them information. I'm unable to do so definitely and this causes consternation all around. Simply providing some clear information to the players who pump millions of dollars daily directly to SC seems to be asking very, very little.

But thanks for your suggestion, is it 4:20 somewhere?

Strong update is about fixing the wars so any clan eventually wants to war (I bet you that nearly half of the clans just skip wars because there is not an opt-out and they do not want to part with otherwise loyal but not that skilled members). It would be about adding something that would be there for clans that won lots of wars - I know for sure that many of the people were already asking for that, including me.

Strong update is about adding a variety to the game, not adding more content that means repetitive grind for resources.

Strong update is about adding e.g. the Mastermind's idea with quests.

Strong update is about fixing the social aspect of the game. Connect with friends an easy in-game way (not gamecenter, not g+). Better chat system. Clan alliances with alliance chat. I am sure you can think of something you would like too.

Hero regen is fine, it took years to be fixed even though it's just a change in a database table. New troop, certainly nice to have, but that will fade out soon. New levels of anything - pointless (for players at least, but it will bring SC revenue to pay their employees so I get that).

It's about opinions... Personnaly, I don't care about QUESTS. Theres a plenty of games offer that!

For the war, you're right some modifications should be done in that part of the game. I'm sure they are working on this. But when they did the update with the wars, the max players were complaining because no units or defense were updated.

I think it's a game about patience... Supercell delivered a good game and the update are steady and calculated. They can't please everybody...

I agree there's something wrong with the communications protocols of SC, it's nice building the anticipation and all but this time they took it too far, they should have come and said sth is wrong give us 3/5 more days to sort it out, other than give sneak peeks then go mute for such a long period.
This just ain't fair to everyone who supports SC like we do, they are getting too proud now that their game grosses too much.

Updates are more often than not on a Tuesday and often they have to wait for Apple etc to release it.

Wal can be upgrade by elixir, Barchers level 7, Archer tower lvl 13, New dark troop, Heros regenrated time decrease...

What it takes to you to be a strong update?
    Well, seeing as you asked...

I'd start with new content - something that is not simply an iteration of something we have today but actually brand new. Events, challenges, overhaul of war, refreshed single player, etc...

If not new content, how about a new TH...

Basically, there is nothing in this update that will make players that are bored of the game log on. When the opposite is true, id say thats a strong update...

I could go on for a long time about new content but not here...There are threads dedicated to the discussion...

You might say that hounds are huge...but will a farmer really pack an expensive DE troop (time and DE cost) in their army...hmmm. For hunters, unless the unit makes it easier to get additional stars, will it be popular? Debatable. This is just my opinion but I think that given its targeting system, it will be difficult to really make an impact over and above what people can do today - we all saw how it will fly right across the base looking for a new AD and on it way will probably die. If it targeted ANY defence, that would be very different! I think this will help with the 2 star but then people are 2 staring now with air troops (im talking maxed bases to avoid confusion). When hogs came out, bases went from being 2 starred to being 3 stared and that is why I say that troop revolutionised raiding for an awful lot of players...minions pushed farming to new heights...witches, for a time, were unstoppable, golems are still recognised as the pillar of most high level attacks, the valks are a fail...

You aren't wrong, because it is your opinion. But, it is also just your opinion, not facts. I would like some of those things too, but the lack of them doesn't make it a weak update.
