    My thoughts on the first sneak peak..

    First, I'll start with the replay/live replay update. I like it. 'Nuff said.


    As far as the walls go.. This will be a little more drawn out. I certainly understand everybody's gripe about walls being upgraded with elixir as well. For some, they're mad that they don't get to benefit from this because they've already maxed their walls, are almost done, or have been sitting on maxed elixir storages for weeks/months.


    I understand the frustration, but this is gonna happen with games that are constantly evolving and continually update. This isn't some single player RPG where you finish the campaign and then you're done. Supercell will add more things and tweak what is already there. For the most part, their updates make it easier for the massive number of players that are working their way up to TH10. The players that are already there usually end up feeling gypped because they had to do things the hard way (or spend loads of money). But shouldn't they make it easier for people to reach TH10? Many TH10s compain about the lack of loot, but if they had more players to loot from, wouldn't loot be easier to come by?


    This leads to another point, which is the game's economy. Elixir has been very easy to get in this game, as most upgrades cost gold so many players are sitting on full elixir storages once they've completed most of their upgrades. Now that you can upgrade walls with elixir as well, many people think that players will dump all of their elixir into walls and elixir will just vanish from the game. I do believe, that elixir will be less abundant, but not nearly as hard to come by as some people make it out. There will still be players saving up their elixir to upgrade their troops, army camps, etc. There will still be players with maxed storages because they've farmed a lot and their builders are tied up. And there will still be inactive players with loads of loot in their collectors.


    The biggest changes that will come from this update will be that more players will have stronger walls, and that players will have to manage their elixir more wisely. We're just going to have to adapt to the changes, or if you can't do that, find a new game to play.


    Sorry for the wall of text, just throwing in my 2 cents. Oh, and about upgrading rows of walls.. That's pretty cool too. Just doesn't really help me lol.

    This happens every sneak peek week.

    People always make conclusions on how bad update will be because of what they think will happen (but it won't) and complain about it.

    Then later on they realize it's fine, there is no complain threads about that certain thing.

    People complained about spells costing elixir, about barch going ineffective, about co leader rank ruining great clans and such, then... you don't see anyone with low elixir from spells, or barch failing people, or co leaders mass kicking great clans with good leaders such as InTheDark or Lunar Rising or top clans and such.

    This time everyone is complaining about low elixir. Think about it, there's an option to upgrade walls with GOLD. So therefore not everyone will do elixir right off the bat. Also not to mention, it's safer to stay up at least one million elixir to train armies and spells, especially for war time. There goes some elixir raids for you. Don't just think about the negatives, think about the POSITIVES.

    oh snap. thats kinda cool though you can choose gold or elixir to upgrade. that is handy for me as i really really need something to use elixir for. people are going way to crazy about this considering both can now be used. its amazing what people can find to complain about.

    Yes, but how are you upgrading the walls? Because there is enough loot to allow you to do so. This will still be the case with both resources after the update, except there will be less elixir available and more walls being upgraded.

    It used to be the "smart way" during the early days of my coc journey, but now i seek to reap the fruits of my labour and utilize the troops i worked so hard to upgrade.

    All i know is that there better be a balance to this wall thing in one of the other features of the update.
    I think it's a great idea to make it possible to upgrade walls with elixir, but this was implemented way too late. Supercell, you better be careful, i hope you put a lot of heavy thinking into this.

    EDIT: for those saying that the game is fine as it is and that supercell should leave it alone, the game would have died a long time ago if they didnt change things up every once in a while.

    I'm currently DE farming for hero's in crystal 3/2. If I use all spells that's 222,000 elixir per raid, so to raid for two hours boosted , say ten raid I need 2,220,000 elixir.

    i need to farm some of that. My pumps will to produce that every day.

    TH9 raids with full elixir average 200k, which is cool, my pumps produce the rest.

    BUT, now those players will dump everything into walls, as most in this area are skull wall building, that means at best 495,000 left in collectors, so we can raid 40,000 or so.

    so my only option for raiding DE consistently is gone.

    DE farming killed stone dead.

    loot bonus needs to change dramatically, and the loot penalty must change otherwise DE is unfarmable.

    Elixir is more important than Gold.

    With half the gold you only have to attack twice as often.
    With half the elixir you have to farm elixir only and still can hardly get enough for your troops without nexting 200 times.
