You'll hear this echoed by many other people who have witnessed the same thing.
When you get more than 20 people in a clan from real-life backgrounds, it is almost impossible to have unity in play styles. People should be able to play together in the same clan regardless of their preferred play styles or war preferences. If my brother plays and wants to be in the same clan as me, but doesn't want to war as much as I do or doesn't like wars as much as I do, then that shouldn't be an automatic disqualifier that forces us into separate clans.
I agree, random players or those that aren't bound by ties outside of CoC should be united, but there is a large group of clans that aren't just a bunch of pugs. You can kick a pug that doesn't share your playing philosophy a lot easier than you can kick a co-worker or a relative. SC needs to implement something for these groups.
My suggestion is a list of current clan players with opt-in/out sliders by their names when a leader clicks the "Go to War" button. It will allow the leaders to select who is in the next war. That way, they can sideline players who can't/don't want to war for whatever reason and the clan can stay together. It will also give newer members for clans that don't have the numbers for a war feeder a chance to spectate for a war or 2.
