We need a DE troop that targets resources. Something that flies or jumps over walls would be ideal. Or maybe something that can just shoot over a wall, like an archer or wizard, but targets resources first. Make it slow so it's not too over powered.

So you have a concept. Now, you need to build on that concept and provide a full troop with stats.
I personally don't think a cheap DE troop will be added considering the trend of troops getting stronger as higher barracks are unlocked. Maybe you can change my mind?

Not sure I'm creative enough to come up with a complete concept. I was just thinking about how I could use DE troops in my normal raid attack. Right now I typically use Giants, Wall Breakers, Goblins and Archers. My main goal is to use the Giants and archers as a distraction for defenses while the Goblins steal all the resources. (not really concerned with trophies) All in my army takes about 22 minutes and over 80k elixer to build. I tried replacing archers with minions but they don't distract ground defenses, like mortars and cannons, plus you get half as many and they're easily shot down by air defense. Hogs are an OK replacement for Giants, but they tend to get ahead of everything so they're not always blocking where you'd want. Valks are basically over size Barbs, so they're of no use to me. And the Golem takes way to long to make and too much housing space.
What I'd like is something that could be used to replace the Goblins so I can spread out to my dark barracks, thus reducing the build time and elixer cost of my army.
Right now the only time I use DE troops is for war. Occasionally I'll do a whole hog attack or build a golem to take the brunt in front of the giants. But none of them really fit well into a normal raid attack.
